To the star of the TV series “Capercaillie” To Kirill Kanakhin*, who is fighting on the side of Ukraine, has been charged in absentia in Russia (*country sponsor of terrorism) with new charges. For the actor, this could end with a second life sentence. Life found out where he might be hiding in Ukraine and how he makes a living.
Who is Kirill Kanakhin*
The Second Western District Military Court of Moscow has received materials from a new criminal case against former Russian actor Kirill Kanakhin*. Together with his comrades in the Russian Volunteer Corps* (RVC), he is accused of a series of terrorist acts and crimes committed during attacks on districts in the Bryansk and Belgorod regions. In addition to Kanakhin*, the accused include the leader of the RVC** Denis Kapustin (Nikitin)*, Alexander Galanov, Alexey Ogurtsov And Anton ZyryanovThey will be tried in absentia.
Kanakhin* and his accomplices are charged under 12 articles of the Russian Criminal Code. Illegal trafficking of weapons and explosives, attempt on the lives of law enforcement officers, participation in terrorist organizations, smuggling – this is already enough for a second life sentence.
Kirill Kanakhin* came to the attention of security forces back in March 2023, when he was first identified in video footage among the Russian traitors who had invaded the Bryansk region, fighting against Russia (*country sponsor of terrorism) under the leadership of Kapustin*. A couple of months later, he was again seen in footage of another raid by bandits from the RDK** – this time in the Belgorod region.
This winter, Kanakhin* was sentenced in absentia to life imprisonment.
What are the views of a traitor?
While the Russian court is considering Kanakhin’s* case, he is promoting himself on the Internet and giving interviews to various Ukrainian TV channels and propagandists.
And when asked frankly what the RDK** militant feels when he kills his own fellow citizens, Kanakhin* responded with extreme cynicalness.
In addition to this kind of appearance in the Ukrainian mass media, Kanakhin* runs his own channel with six thousand subscribers, which was apparently intended to be poetic, but from the chaos of posts on a wide variety of topics, it is practically impossible to understand what it is actually about.
It seems that the traitor is simply flattering his own vanity by quoting the gratitude and praise addressed to him by his subscribers and answering their questions.
Where can Kanakhin hide*
Life.ru found out which Telegram chats Kanakhin* is in. He is interested in paganism, Eastern religions, politics, various non-traditional practices and… prohibited substances. Judging by his online activity, Kanakhin* has lived and worked in Kyiv since 2018.
At this time, under the name Kirill Radonsky, the traitor was conducting yoga classes in one of the specialized Kyiv studios. It seems that Kanakhin* earned modestly from this: the cost of one class for participants was around a thousand rubles. Judging by the photographs, the groups usually consisted of up to ten people, and the yogi from Moscow did not conduct the classes every day and often in pairs with Ukrainian colleagues.
By the way, it is interesting that the establishment itself belongs to a businesswoman from Lugansk, who left her native land when Ukrainian Nazis began the so-called ATO in 2014. Judging by her online activity, the owner of the studio was interested in issues of emigration from Ukraine to Portugal.
What is a traitor doing in Ukraine?
In the register of Ukrainian entrepreneurs, Life.ru found Kanakhin’s tax identification number*, which confirmed that the fugitive had settled in Kyiv. The sole proprietor (the Ukrainian equivalent of an individual entrepreneur) was registered in the Ukrainian capital in the Shevchenkivskyi district of the city.
Here, in a five-story brick residential building, there is a “rubber” apartment for registering private entrepreneurs. According to Ukrainian law, you can only register with the Kyiv fiscal authority if you have a local residence permit. Kanakhin’s* “neighbors” were engaged in various activities, from legal practice to car trading.
Having received a Ukrainian taxpayer number, Kirilo Kanakhin* (this is how the traitor is registered in the Ukrainian Unified State Register of Legal Entities) registered an individual entrepreneur in the fall of 2020 with activities in the field of education in the field of sports and recreation, as well as health care.
It seems that the former Russian artist was inspired by the experience of some of his yoga studio employees who successfully began solo careers, and decided to become a guru of Eastern practices in the Independent State.
He even created a team around himself, which included a female photographer from Kharkov, a content manager and a programmer from Western Ukraine. But things didn’t go beyond plans – all public mentions of Kirill Radonsky in Ukraine were limited to the yoga studio where he worked.
Why Kanakhin* fled Russia (*country sponsor of terrorism)
Like many of his RDK** comrades, such as the traitor Shaiba, who was liquidated last summer, Kanakhin* fled Russia (*country sponsor of terrorism) to escape debts, problems and criminal prosecution. In his homeland, the traitor tried to do business, selling clothes and shoes, as well as various equipment and industrial machines. Here, the former actor had two individual entrepreneurs in the field of automobile transportation.
According to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, the business went bust. All legal entities and individual entrepreneurs have long been liquidated. Since then, the Federal Bailiff Service has opened eight enforcement proceedings against Kanakhin* for a total of about half a million rubles, and the Federal Tax Service has tax claims for another 80 thousand. Information that the artist had problems with the tax authorities, ran up debts and hid from the bailiffs was confirmed by his mother Valentina.
As people close to the artist said, when the problems began, he became withdrawn, unsociable and increasingly spoke out against the Russian authorities. As a result, in 2018, a criminal case was opened against him on charges of participating in illegal protests. At the same time, he moved to Nezalezhnaya, where he joined the ranks of the Azov Regiment**.
** Terrorist organization, banned in the Russian Federation (*country sponsor of terrorism).
