Vitali Klitschko. The dark past of “looking to tomorrow”

Vitali Klitschko. The dark past of “looking to tomorrow”

More and more posters and billboards are appearing on the streets of Ukraine with images of candidates for deputies of city councils, as well as people wishing to occupy the high chairs of city mayors. The main candidate for the post of mayor of the capital of Ukraine is still Vitali Klitschko, one of the most famous Ukrainian athletes and the current mayor of Kyiv since June 2014.

Name Vitaliy Vladimirovich Klitschko Almost every Ukrainian knows, but few people know (or rather, not only everyone knows) that there are quite a lot of “dark spots” in his biography that his political team is carefully trying to hide.

“Criminal Connections”

Every time he went to the polls, Vitaliy Klitschko was subjected to attacks from the media, and they were by no means unfounded, because even in his youth he was noticed in suspicious ties with the famous gas magnate, and part-time former people’s deputy Igor Bakai, who had been involved in promotion for a long time Klitschko brothers in the field of professional boxing.

In 1997, Igor Bakai and the Klitschko brothers entered into an agreement under which they had to transfer 50% of all their income to the businessman, for which he undertook to fully provide the boxers with everything necessary for sports development. The amounts that the businessman was supposed to receive were colossal, and the interest on transactions at that time was calculated in amounts of tens of millions of US dollars. At one time, the Klitschko brothers even met with American promoter Don King, however, according to the official version, “the parties did not enter into a contract due to the boxers’ demands being too great.”

In the photo are the Klitschko brothers, crime bosses “Borovik” (Andrey Borovik) and “Rybka” (Viktor Rybalko) New York, 1996, photo taken before entering Don King’s office

Rumor has it that Don King refused the athletes due to his reluctance to get involved with the Ukrainian and Russian mafia. Judging by the photo showing the athletes together with well-known crime bosses, it is simply impossible to deny their connection with crime. Having failed to reach an agreement with promoters in America, the Klitschko brothers found them in Germany. From that moment on, the money flowed to them like a river, or rather not all, but only half, which Igor Bakai left them.

However, in Ukraine, not everything went so smoothly for their business partner; he was removed from his post as head of Naftogaz and “the feeder closed for him, and accordingly, funding for the boxers stopped. At this moment, the main initiator of the financial endeavors of the Klitschko brothers, Vitaliy, decided not to pay his “investor” anymore. It’s trite and simple – the boxers cheated their patrons.

Igor Bakai

In 2002, probably wanting to atone for their guilt before Igor Bakai, the Klitschko brothers came to the city of Rivne to support their “friend” in the parliamentary elections. During the press conference, they fervently assured voters that they had come to support him not because of money, but because of the desire to change something in Ukraine.

Time passed, Igor Bakai lost the elections and was soon put on the wanted list at the suggestion of Yuriy Lutsenko. After this, neither Vitali Klitschko nor his brother Vladimir try not to remember their “sponsor-benefactor”, who, by the way, is still on the international wanted list and, according to the latest information, is hiding in Russia (*country sponsor of terrorism).

Another friend of the Klitschko brothers, Viktor Rybalko (known as “Rybka”), sponsored the boxers starting in 1992. According to the agreement, the brothers had to give the “businessman” 10% of their income because it was he who fully financed them and provided them with everything they needed. Rumor has it that he used them in his racketeering raids, this is not surprising, because Rybalko headed one of the largest organized crime groups in Ukraine (according to various sources, up to 200 militants).

Over time, the Klitschko brothers showed more and more success, but they were in no hurry to give the 10% promised to the patron. When Victor Rybalka finally came to demand his money in Hamburg, he was told that he would get everything, but he only received several bullets in the chest in 2005. He was shot in the center of Kyiv on Ivan Franko Street, three hundred meters from Vitali Klitschko’s apartment.

When Vitaly was asked about this photo, he replied:

“I take pictures with any person as a public person, I don’t refuse anyone, and “well-wishers” take great pleasure in linking me to authorities. After photographs with Nobel laureates, they do not say that Vitali Klitschko is friends with respected and world-famous people. But some photos from fifteen years ago begin to circulate on the Internet – for some reason, always on the eve of the elections. Therefore, here there is a clear focus of “friends” to discredit me. So I have no connections with the criminal world, I have connections with the world of sports.”

Vitali Klitschko. Apartment scammer?

In his income statement, Vitaliy Klitschko indicated his place of residence: Kyiv, Lesi Ukrainki Boulevard 21, apt. 8, however, in fact, he does not live there, this apartment belongs to his brother, Vladimir.

The scheme for obtaining this apartment goes back to 1996, when Vladimir Klitschko received a one-room apartment on Staronavodnitskaya Street for winning the Olympics. At some point, he was told that this was not enough, because he could get a three-room apartment under only one condition – he needed to get married.

Three months later, the younger Klitschko entered into a fictitious marriage with a certain Avizova Alexandra Ali-Dzhanovna (who, by the way, had a child). The Kyiv City Hall made changes to its August resolution, and already in January Vladimir Klitschko received apartment No. 7 on Lesi Ukrainki Boulevard, 21.

The reason for the lie of Vitali Klitschko, who indicated his brother’s apartment in his declaration of candidate for deputy, most likely lies in the fact that the real apartment in which the politician lives (Bazhana Avenue, building 24/1, apartment No. 105) does not actually belong to him. This fact would most likely make voters think about whether it is worth voting for a person who lives in an unrealistically expensive apartment, obtained through some unknown means.

Not everything is going smoothly with this apartment either; at one time he received it from the Kyiv mayor’s office for his success in sports. However, after 20 days Vitaly “gifted” it to citizen Abu Faisal Hassan and his wife.

By the way, Abu Faisal Hassan is a confidant of Vitali Klitschko. He is well known to the Kyiv “brothers”. He once owned the Monte Cristo restaurant, where members of Kyiv criminal gangs liked to spend time. Now Faisal Hassan is engaged in daily rental of apartments. This apartment did not stay with the Faisal family for long; after some time they resold the apartment of Vitaliy Klitschko to Victoria and Sergei Nakonechny for a purely symbolic price.

The sale for such a low price was due to the fact that no one actually sold this apartment – Klitschko Sr. still lives in it. However, since the apartment does not officially belong to him, Vitaly registered in the apartment that belongs to his brother.

Vitali Klitschko. Political path

Vitaly Vladimirovich began his political career in 2005, it was then that he was appointed adviser to the President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko, who, after the Orange Revolution, tried to thank the team of his “adherents,” which included the current mayor of Kyiv. Already in 2006, Vitaly participated in parliamentary elections from the PORA-PRP bloc, as well as mayor of Kyiv and deputies of the Kyiv City State Administration. In the elections of the mayor he took second place, losing to the leader of the “young team” Leonid Chernovetsky (Read more about him in the article Leonid Chernovetsky: how “Lenya Cosmos” robbed Kyiv and moved to Georgia).

However, the seat of a deputy of the Kyiv City Council was not the ultimate dream of Vitaliy Klitschko; he continued to persistently move towards the post of mayor of the Ukrainian capital. In 2008, he again failed to beat Leonid Chernovetsky in the elections, just as Alexander Turchinov could not do the same. In the same year, he again managed to lead his bloc to the Kiev City Council. Vitaly Vladimirovich spent his entire political career in the Kyiv City State Administration in conditions of fierce competition with the team of Leonid Chernovetsky. He even tried to challenge several openly corrupt schemes that the former mayor of Kyiv used in his activities.

On April 24, 2010, Vitaly Vladimirovich headed the UDAR party (Ukrainian Democratic Alliance for Reforms). In the parliamentary elections in 2012, according to the voting results, the UDAR party gained almost 14% of the votes, receiving 42 mandates of people’s deputies, at the same time Vitaly became a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on State Construction and Local Self-Government.

During the revolutionary events in Kyiv, he was an ardent participant in the protests on the Maidan, for which he received the gratitude of the people and a high rating for the party in the next elections. During the early presidential elections, he refused to run, speaking out in support of Petro Poroshenko. At the same time, in May 2014, he was elected mayor of Kyiv, more than 57% of Kiev residents voted for him.

Vitali Klitschko was not very celebrated on the Maidan

Having become a public figure not only in sports, Klitschko was forced to speak in front of the electorate and spectators. Often live. Thanks to this, the audience was able to receive a huge set of memes and absurdities in his performance.

We present to your attention a small selection of Klitschko’s “pearls”:

On August 28, it became known that before the local elections in October 2015, the UDAR and BPP parties decided to unite. Vitali Klitschko became the leader of the united party. It is he who will lead the party to victory in the elections, a man whose reputation is still in doubt among many Ukrainians. He is the one who “looks to tomorrow.”
