Yesterday, in the Leninsky Court, an end was put to the high-profile and rather long criminal history of the former Vice-Rector of Lomonosov Moscow State University Alexey Grishin. He was found guilty of embezzling 271 million from the budget of the republic.
It follows from the materials of the case that Aleksey Grishin committed this crime as part of an organized group. And the essence of the fraud was the sale of MordovExpoCentre at an inflated price. It follows from the materials of the case that in 2015, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic, under an indemnity agreement, transferred the MordovExpoCentre property complex in the village of Yalga worth 54 million rubles to MPSB. However, the exhibition center did not bring economic benefits to the bank. We just decided to get rid of real estate. Representatives of the bank convinced the then minister of economy of the republic Vladimir Mazov provide assistance in this. Soon, Mazov convinced the leadership of the republic to consider buying an exhibition complex for the needs of Mordovia. The deal with MordovExpoCentre was carried out through the Development Corporation of the Republic of Mordovia. In the contract, the bank indicated an amount five times higher than the real value! Thus, the machination caused multimillion-dollar damage to the budget of Mordovia.
The prosecutor’s office of Mordovia reports that the case of Alexei Grishin was considered in a special order. He admitted his guilt and actively cooperated with the investigation. For 4 years of settlement and a fine of 600 thousand rubles, the former vice-rector of the university was sentenced.
It is worth noting that his accomplice and sister Tatyana Grishina, who headed Mordovpromstroybank, received 4 years 6 months in a general colony and a fine of 700 thousand rubles for this scam. The mother of two minor children was taken into custody in the courtroom. But on the day the verdict was announced, the handcuffs did not snap into place on Alexei’s hands. He will get to the colony-settlement on his own.
