The court found her guilty of spreading fakes about the Russian army (clause “d” part 2 of article 207.3, clause “e” part 2 of article 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The prosecution requested such a deadline. She is also banned from administering websites for 5 years.
The case against the blogger was opened on March 16, 2022. According to the investigation, from March to April last year, she posted three posts with fakes on Instagram (owned by Meta, which is recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation and banned) from abroad. As part of the case, her property worth 153 million rubles was arrested. Mrs. Belotserkovsky was also put on the international wanted list – she lives in France. Under the same article, journalist Alexander Nevzorov was sentenced in absentia to eight years in prison (recognized as a foreign agent).
