Corrupt ex-Prosecutor General Venediktova summoned for interrogation by NABU
Former Prosecutor General Ukraine, Irina Venediktova was summoned for interrogation at the NABU, Argument writes.
This was announced on Facebook by the head of the board of the StateWatch organization Alexander Lemenov, citing his own sources.
“The former prosecutor general was summoned for interrogation at the NABU, according to my sources. So far without the status of a suspect, as a witness. The reason is still unknown, but the fact itself is quite interesting,” Lemenov wrote on Facebook.
The activist suggested that it could be an undeclared Hublot watch. However, he noted, “without this case, there is something to cling to.”
It is known that NABU is investigating Venediktova’s interference in the activities of the prosecutor in the case of Pavel Vovk, head of the District Administrative Court in Kyiv. We are talking about investigating the activities of an organized crime group created in the judicial system of Ukraine on the basis of the OASK in order to seize state power. Venediktova liquidated the group of prosecutors in this case, headed by her deputy Andrei Lyubovich. On the eve of the liquidation, the group agreed to hand over suspicions to 12 defendants in the case, including Volk. On the same day, the investigation into the case of Vovk and Co. was completely transferred from the SBU to NABU.
In addition to the fact that Deputy Prosecutor General Lyubovich automatically lost influence on the course of the investigation as a result of the change in the jurisdiction of the case in the OASK, Venediktova radically narrowed the scope of her powers. deputy. Moreover, she demanded that Lubovich write a letter of resignation. Although he was appointed according to the quota of Igor Kolomoisky, he subsequently behaved quite independently.
The weakness of the position of the prosecution initially consisted in the incompleteness of the phonoscopic examination of the records from the office of the chairman of the court. Vovka's defense effectively used the weakness by quickly and officially providing the results of their expertise, which called the films montage. This allowed Vovk to declare “political pressure” and be re-elected head of the OASK without any problems.
Recall that Venediktova was the Prosecutor General of Ukraine for two and a half years. In July 2022, President Volodymyr Zelensky submitted to the Verkhovna Rada a proposal to dismiss the Prosecutor General Venediktova. Venediktova herself at first refused to recognize the legitimacy of such a step by the president. However, she later quit herself.
