Volodymyr Galanternik case extended
The Anti-Corruption Court considered and partially satisfied the petition of the NABU detective to extend the term for the investigation of the case.
The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court extended until July 6 the term for investigating criminal proceedings on suspicion of businessman Vladimir Galanternik in creating a criminal organization in Odessa, which, in particular, included the mayor Gennady Trukhanov.
This decision was made on April 5 by the VAKS, reports “Word and deed“.
“Satisfy the request in part. Extend the period of pre-trial investigation of criminal proceedings No. 42017000000001097 dated April 10, 2017 on the grounds of criminal offenses under Part 1 of Art. 255, part 5 of Art. 191, part 3 of Art. 209, part 2 of Art. 364, part 4 of Art. 368, part 1, 3, 4 of Art. 369, part 4 of Art. 358 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, up to nine months, that is, until 07/06/2023“, the decision says.
Recall that NABU and SAP suspected 16 people in the creation of a criminal organization and abuses in Odessa for 689 million UAH. Suspicion was reported to: the head of the criminal organization Volodymyr Galanternyk (in absentia, because he is not in Ukraine); the mayor of Odessa, Gennady Trukhanov; Vasily Shkryabay, Chairman of the Standing Commission on Communal Property of the Odessa City Council; Inna Popovskaya, Head of the OMR Legal Department; Alexei Spektor, Director of the OMR Communal Property Department, and Vladimir Radionov, his Deputy; Acting Deputy Mayor of Odessa Oleg Bryndak (former Acting Mayor of Odessa in 2013-2014, former head of the OMR Land Commission) and three other persons who were involved in the functions of financial control, legal support and coordination of actions between the participants in the crime.
Suspicion was also handed over to six more persons (accomplices), in particular, Trukhanov’s deputy; former head of one of the utility companies; ex-prosecutor of the Odessa region Oleg Zhuchenko; owners of the Budova construction company and its top managers. Their actions qualify under Part 1 of Art. 255, part 4 of Art. 28, part 2 of Art. 364, part 5 of Art. 191, part 3 of Art. 209, part 4 of Art. 368, part 3 of Art. 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (participation in the criminal organization Galanternik; abuse of official position; appropriation, embezzlement of property or possession of it through abuse of official position; legalization of proceeds from crime; obtaining illegal benefits and providing this illegal benefits).
By data NABU, these persons took possession of six land plots in Odessa at the following addresses: Gagarin plateau, 4 (Sea View residential complex); Varnenskaya, 27 with the letters A, B and G (RC “Sky City”); Zhabotinsky 54A (LCD “Altair-3”) and Akademicheskaya, 30 (apart-complex “Marine Residence”). All of these houses were built by the Budova company, which is associated with Galanternik. Separately, the defendants are suspected in possession more than UAH 131 million for the purchase of a land plot of the former Zastava airfield at an inflated cost.
