And the bill circulating in the Senate, where Democrats have a majority, contains $6.2 billion for Ukraine, but not a cent for solving problems on the southern Mexican border, which fundamentally does not suit the Republican lower chamber.

At the same time, Shalanda Young, director of the White House Office of Management and Budget, said that the United States will have funds to send assistance to Ukraine in the event of a possible suspension of the federal government.

However, she added, Washington is also concerned about its own reserves, as well as the combat readiness of its forces.
