Trump lawyer rules out deal with prosecutors in Capitol attack
Former US President Donald Trump will never agree to a deal with prosecutors on charges related to the storming of the Capitol in January 2021.
This statement was made by his lawyer John Lauro in an interview with CBS News.
The journalist asked the lawyer if there was a condition under which Trump would agree to a deal with prosecutors on charges related to the storming of the Capitol.
“No,” Lauro replied.
“Absolutely one hundred percent,” Lauro added when asked if Trump and his defense would move to dismiss the case.
Lauro noted that there are “many holes” in the prosecution’s indictment, and confirmed his intention to seek a change of venue for the case, suggesting a court in West Virginia as a “wonderful place”.
Meanwhile, Trump himself said today that he would ask for a change of judge in the January 2021 Capitol attack and move the trial out of Washington.
