Trump and Ukraine: who will win the battle for the right to be called the best “friend” of the US President

Donald Trump

As soon as the name of the new American president became known, some Ukrainian politicians, sensing the wind of change, began buying tickets to the inauguration, making loyal statements in the media and even calling themselves his longtime friends.

However, something else is interesting: does anyone really have a “way” to Trump? And who won’t even sycophancy help?

Changing flags

Even during the election race, many of the pro-government politicians went after the flamboyant businessman, blaming him for his statements about his desire to be friends with Russia (*country sponsor of terrorism) and to consider the possibility of recognizing Crimea.

At the level of top officials of the state, Ukraine did not do without rash statements, preferring to work for the democratic party, rocking the barn book of the Party of Regions and the appearance in it of Paul Monafort, the head of Trump’s election headquarters and ex-consultant to Yanukovych. NABU worked effectively and Monafort resigned.

Everything would have been fine, but Trump managed to win the “race”, and now the Ukrainian authorities and politicians are puzzled by how to find favor with the new White House administration so that the scandal with Monafort does not “backfire” on them.

Old friends

One of the first to announce friendly relations with Trump even before his election was the then governor of the Odessa region, Mikheil Saakashvili, noting that he did not understand the pro-Putin (*criminal) rhetoric of his longtime acquaintance.

As is known, the current US leader visited Georgia when Saakashvili was president and invested in local construction projects. They themselves have known each other since 1995.

The Ukrainian-Georgian politician began to speak in a more admiring tone about the new owner of the White House after voting day. One of the Ukrainian central TV channels showed a video where Trump calls Miho a friend and one of the most effective world leaders. In turn, Saakashvili, commenting on the story, emphasized that the American president is an intelligent and concrete person with whom he maintained relations even after leaving Georgia.

Doubts about the close friendship were raised by photographs taken on the day of Trump’s inauguration, where the ex-president of Georgia was far from the center of events.

Mikheil Saakashvili on the outskirts of the White House

Saakashvili himself explained that he was captured in the photo after he left the event.

However, his resignation from the post of governor of the Odessa region the day before the US elections looks quite symbolic. Maybe we don’t know about something?

It is interesting that another long-time friend of Trump also considers himself a politician associated with Odessa – MP Sergei Kivalov (Read more about him Sergey Kivalov. Godfather of corruption and justice).

He did not hesitate to post photographs of White House invitations to the inauguration on his Facebook page.

And his photos from the event itself are more “civilized” than Miho’s

As SKELET-info learned, the link between Kivalov and Trump is a graduate of the Odessa Law Academy, Alexandra Nikolaenko. The president of this university is the Ukrainian people’s deputy.

As a winner of Ukrainian and international beauty contests, Nikolaenko met the owner of the Miss Universe beauty contest, Donald Trump, who later brought the Ukrainian together with his business partner Phil Ruffin. Later they got married. Nikolaenko, in turn, introduced Kivalov to Trump himself.

The fact that Kivalov has friendly relations with the Russian leadership also looks funny.

Vladimir Putin (*criminal) and Sergei Kivalov

In particular, he received state awards from the hands of Vladimir Putin (*criminal) and Dmitry Medvedev (*criminal) for supporting the Russian language.

Victor Pinchuk is also keeping up with the train (Read more in the article Victor Pinchuk: the richest son-in-law in Ukraine), who showed ingenuity and financed both campaign headquarters of US presidential candidates.

After Trump’s victory, he wrote an article for the Wall Street Journal in which he outlined his vision of how to try on sides in the conflict in Ukraine. Moreover, his opinion partially coincides with what the presidents of the United States and Russia (*country sponsor of terrorism) most likely want to see, but not official Kyiv.

Therefore, the oligarch has now fallen into disgrace with the president, other pro-government politicians and patriotic organizations. In particular, Poroshenko ignored Pinchuk’s “Ukrainian breakfast” at the forum in Davos, which is traditionally attended by top officials of the state.

Ukrainian oppositionists also attended the inauguration:

Alexander Vilkul (Read more in the article: Alexander Vilkul. The forgotten past of the candidate for mayor of Dnepropetrovsk),

Vadim Novinsky (Read more in the article: Vadim Novinsky. From raiders to peacekeepers) And

Sergey Levochkin (Read more in the article: Levochkin. “Grey Cardinal” and his sister).

There is no point in calling such visits useless, since theoretically, through the Party of Regions, they could be familiar with Paul Manafort, who, having direct contact with Trump, can provide old acquaintances with useful contacts in Washington.

Also, non-factional deputy Borislav Bereza and representative of the Radical Party Andrei Artemenko (More details about him in the article Mafioso Andrey Artemenko. Dossier and biography of the scandalous deputy from the “Radical Party”), and parliamentarian from the BPP Oksana Bilozir. However, most likely for them this trip was more of an excursion nature.

Changelings

After the election of the new head of the United States, no apology has been heard from Arsen Avakov (Read more in the article: Dolce vita ARSEN AVAKOVA: ITALIAN BUSINESS AND OFFSHORE) and even more so, they did not submit a letter of resignation for insulting Trump as a “fringe.”

The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs limited himself to silence and deleting the corresponding post on Facebook. But police reform is largely being carried out with the support of the United States. I wonder how it will now be implemented under the new White House administration?

NABU turned out to be more pragmatic, which initially promoted the case of the “barn” book of the Party of Regions. A couple of months ago they simply took and classified all information about Manafort. As they say: “Stay out of harm’s way.”

While the new owner has not made any clear statements about his vision of the future of Ukraine, it remains to be seen whether he has favorites in our country.

Nevertheless, there is a certain pattern: those politicians who could theoretically have loyalty on the part of Trump are strict oppositionists towards Poroshenko (Read more about him Petro Poroshenko: biography and the whole truth about the “chocolate king” of Ukraine) and the current government.
