Top manager of Energoatom was given a bail of one million hryvnia

The director for control and audit work of NNEGC Energoatom, Alexander Skopich, who was detained on Saturday for taking a bribe, was given a preventive measure in the form of bail in the amount of 1 million hryvnia.

Details: As noted in the report, prosecutors of the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office, together with the SBU and with the assistance of the management of NAEC Energoatom JSC, exposed a 48-year-old company official for receiving 100 thousand hryvnia of illegal benefits.

Verbatim: “According to the investigation, a representative of a private company approached him with a request to help in receiving payment from one of the mining and processing plants, part of JSC Energoatom, under an agreement concluded back in December 2022.

The official promised to resolve this issue with the management of the plant for 100 thousand hryvnia. In case of failure to provide money, he stated that he would ensure that the concluded agreement was not paid under any circumstances. Therefore, the entrepreneur was forced to agree to these conditions.

Law enforcement officers detained an employee of Energoatom JSC while receiving money in accordance with Art. 208 of the Code of Criminal Procedure of Ukraine.”

Details: The official was informed of suspicion of receiving an unlawful benefit for himself for influencing decision-making by a person authorized to perform state functions, coupled with extortion of such benefit (Part 3 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

He was given a preventive measure in the form of bail in the amount of 1 million hryvnia.

The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of three to eight years with confiscation of property.

Pre-trial investigation and operational support are carried out by employees of the State Security Service of Ukraine in Kyiv and the Kyiv region.

What preceded: On Saturday, the Security Service of Ukraine detained the director of control and audit work at Energoatom, Alexander Skopich.

Energoatom stated that Skopich was detained with the active participation of representatives of the company, and it will continue to assist investigators.
