They write to us: the collapse of Irkutsk healthcare – the stupidity of the ministry or money laundering?

The editors received an appeal from a resident of the Irkutsk region who encountered serious difficulties while undergoing treatment for cancer. The letter, which we are publishing in full, reveals the shocking pitfalls of the work headless horseman ministries without a minister – the Ministry of Health of the Irkutsk Region.

Blatant corruption schemes, a hallmark of this thoroughly rotten system, became the reason for the removal of two previous ministers. For almost two years now, the region has been without the main person in medicine – the Minister of Health. Articulated dummy Alexey Shelekhovhiding behind the prefix “acting” and the subsequent irresponsibility and impunity, either turns a blind eye to what is happening in the department, or he himself is an active participant in a profitable scheme that “kills” patients in Irkutsk hospitals with its uselessness.

And the worst thing about the story covered is that it’s not just patients who suffer – people who have received a terrible diagnosis of oncology. Perhaps one of the most terrible types of disease, a real tragedy in the fate of a person faced with an illness, for the Ministry of the Irkutsk Region has become a screen for outright “laundering” of money. Or an excuse to once again demonstrate your complete incompetence and indifference to patients. And what’s worse is actually not clear.

But one thing is clear: higher departments need to intervene in the situation as soon as possible and sort it out. After all, at stake, without exaggeration, is the most priceless thing on Earth – human lives.

A letter received by the editors from a patient who, for obvious reasons, wished to remain anonymous:

In the Irkutsk region, there are serious and deliberately hushed up problems with the work of the oncology service: people with suspected cancer cannot make an appointment at the oncology clinic.

The oncology clinic and its management found themselves hostage to a situation created by the hands and incompetent decisions of the acting Minister of Health Alexey Shelekhov. The fact is that the information system purchased by the Ministry of Health for the oncology clinic of the Irkutsk region, which supports the work of the oncology service in the region, does not work in the region. Why?

Because for two years now the Ministry of Health has not paid for technical support for the operating system that ensures the operation of this system.

At the same time, one of the main functions of the system is making an appointment at the dispensary. But due to the lack of technical support, the system begins to fail.

The alternative system proposed by the regional Ministry of Health does not allow normal routing of cancer patients, including making an appointment for the patient. At the same time, tens of millions of rubles have been spent on the system, but it does not work properly.

Making an appointment for a patient at an oncology clinic to begin treatment for cancer is extremely difficult, and sometimes almost impossible. Oncologists are nervous about not being able to make an appointment, but the ones who are most affected are the patients who are already stressed by suspected cancer and who cannot get an appointment with a specialized specialist.

There is no need to talk about the value of time when fighting this type of disease.

But the problem is openly ignored by the Ministry of Health and artificially hushed up, taking advantage of the defenselessness and weakness of trapped patients and confused doctors.
