The Frunzensky District Court of Vladivostok arrested the deputy head of the city, Alexei Leifer, for two months, according to court website.

The vice-mayor is charged under the articles on accepting a large bribe and exceeding official powers with causing grave consequences (paragraph “c” of part 5 of article 290 and paragraph “c” of part 3 of article 286 of the Criminal Code). As a result, the land plot was sold at a cost of only 5% of the cadastral value at the time of sale. At the same time, the cadastral value of the site is more than 21 million rubles. Also, in October 2018, the defendant received a bribe in the amount of at least 300 thousand rubles for assistance in concluding a lease agreement for another land plot.

Currently, the investigators of the Investigative Committee have searched the defendant’s apartment, as well as at the place of work, where they seized communications equipment, electronic media and other items relevant to the investigation of the criminal case. Investigators have identified another similar episode committed between the end of 2015 and January 2022. Then the damage amounted to 20.1 million rubles. The defendants were searched, their property was seized.
