Nasalik is suspected of official negligence for 1.5 billion

Suspicion to ex-Minister of Energy Igor Nasalik. The State Bureau of Investigation told in what case and under what article suspicion was declared, writes Word and Deed.

The former head of the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Igor Nasalyk is suspected of official negligence, which led to budget losses of almost UAH 1.5 billion in favor of one of the gas oligarchs.

It is reported that, at the direction of the head of the ministry, subordinates entered into agreements with the structures of a well-known businessman that were obviously unprofitable for the state. In particular, in violation of the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers, funds were artificially “written off” to merchants for the exploitation of state property.

The amount of budget revenues shortfall for the period from May 2017 to December 2020 is UAH 1 billion 488 million“, the message says.

The SBI recalled that in May 2022, by a decision of the investigating judge of the Pechersky District Court of Kyiv, the corporate rights of 26 gas distribution system operators were seized, they were transferred to the management of ARMA. So far, they are managed by the State Joint-Stock Company Chernomorneftegaz.

Specialists of the State Audit Service of Ukraine have already completed the analysis of the materials of criminal proceedings. Based on its results, a certificate was drawn up confirming the damage to the state in the amount of 1 billion 488 million hryvnia and the established officials of the Ministry of Energy and Coal Mining who violated the requirements of the law“, – added to the State Bureau of Investigation.

So, the former minister was declared suspected under Part 2 of Art. 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Recall that a number of media outlets today wrote that Nasalik was declared a suspect.
