The Main Investigation Department of the TFR for the Moscow Region opened a criminal case on the fact of a fight and murder in a restaurant in Podolsk. Initially, the telegram channels contained information that the 24-year-old Sochi hockey player Artyom Ivanyuzhenkov and his friends allegedly celebrated a friend’s birthday there. Another group was sitting at the next table. A verbal skirmish ensued between them, which escalated into a fight. A 23-year-old young man was stabbed, his friends took him to a local hospital, however, despite the best efforts of doctors, he died.
The operatives took all the participants in the fight to the investigation department. The main suspect so far is a 27-year-old local resident.
According to telegram channels, friends of the deceased said that Artyom Ivanyuzhenkov allegedly delivered the fatal blow. The hockey player himself fled. Soon there were reports that the young man was detained.
Olga Vradiy, senior assistant to the head of the TFR in the Moscow region, denied information about Ivanyuzhenkov’s involvement in this story, saying that there were no hockey players among the detainees. The club of the Continental Hockey League (KHL) Sochi, where the young man plays, also stated that on March 10 and 11 he allegedly took part in the team’s training camp. Soon, Ivanyuzhenkov himself posted a video on social networks in which he urged not to believe unverified information. “This is my third day at the training camp in Sochi,” he says.
Family accidents
Artyom Ivanyuzhenkov, the son of the former head of the Ministry of Sports, State Duma deputy Boris Ivanyuzhenkov, like his brother Anton, has already been involved in criminal cases, but each time they got away with it. On July 11, 2020, Artyom killed a cyclist on Oktyabrsky Prospekt in Podolsk in his sports BMW X6. The deceased man was 45 years old, he died before the doctors arrived. For some reason, the traffic cops who arrived at the scene of the accident did not detain the driver and check him for intoxication.
Ivanyuzhenkov Jr. was in the hospital, where he spent several days. Rumors circulated around the city that Artyom’s influential father allegedly hid him on purpose so that he would sober up – at the time of the accident, the young man was allegedly drunk. Only after a wide public outcry, a criminal case was initiated under Article 264 of Part 3 (“Violation of the rules of the road and the operation of vehicles that resulted in the death of a person”).
On May 22, 2016, in Podolsk, on the same BMW, the brother of the hockey player Anton got into an accident. He was also 22 at the time. Two people were injured in the accident, one woman was taken to intensive care and remained disabled. Instead of providing first aid to the victims, Anton, in a panic, tried to hide the license plates from his car as quickly as possible. Eyewitnesses claimed that, according to external signs, the guy was drunk. The criminal case against Ivanyuzhenkov was closed a few months later after the parties reconciled.
Authoritative family
Previously, Artyom Ivanyuzhenkov lived abroad. The young athlete decided to break into the sport through the US Junior League. He played for the San Jose Sharks in California. This is a famous club that is in the NHL. However, the coronavirus epidemic canceled most of the matches and the young man returned to his homeland. Recently, he has been playing in the Sochi team.
Anton also played hockey, played in the Russian junior team, in which he became the bronze medalist of the 2011 World Championship.
Even at the time of the first accident, the father of the reckless brothers Boris Ivanyuzhenkov was already an active deputy of the State Duma of the VI convocation from the Communist Party. And in the 90s, he even had a ministerial portfolio.
Ivanyuzhenkov Sr. is the founder of several firms. For example, the Podolsk hockey club “Vityaz”, a sports school of the same name and a public sports organization for the disabled. Ivanyuzhenkov continues his legislative activity.
How the Ivanyuzhenkovs make money
Ivanyuzhenkov has a 30% stake in the Dryada company, which owns the large Podolsky shopping center Gallery. Income in 2021 is about 140 million. He gave his share in trust management to Elena Trofimova, a media manager, founder of an advertising agency and project producer of the Transcontinental Media Company.
According to the SPARK database, Anton and Natalya Ivanyuzhenkovs, who control a third of Market Complex LLC, the operator of the Tsentralny shopping center in Podolsk near Moscow, are also involved in the business. According to SPARK, in 2021 the Market Complex received an income of about 250 million euros.
It is curious that the co-owners of the Market Complex are the American company “MZhK Management INK”, registered in the state of New Jersey. And she also participates in the very Dryad shopping center, in which Ivanyuzhenkov Sr. owns a share. It is possible that it is no coincidence that his youngest son Artyom was going to make his career in the USA, where a deputy from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation may have business partners.
It has not yet been possible to find out who is behind the American resident, but there is a company with a very similar name – MZhK-Management LLC, registered in Mytishchi and also renting out commercial premises.
Some time ago, Natalya Ivanyuzhenkova posted on Facebook* a photo of a baby (perhaps her grandson) adorned with the Ukrainian flag. From cars she prefers BMW. Ivanyuzhenkova’s cars were actively used by the children Anton and Artyom, as a result of which several serious violations are registered on them.
One of them concerns driving a car without a license while intoxicated (both sons were involved in road accidents, including fatal ones), and the second one sounds like this: “illegal use of color schemes of emergency vehicles.” Simply put, the Ivanyuzhenkovs could paint cars to look like cars, for example, of the Investigative Committee.
The wife is also responsible for the family property. In addition to the city apartments in which Anton, Artyom and the youngest daughter Anastasia now live, the Ivanyuzhenkovs have a huge mansion in the elite village of Podolsk on Krasnogvardeisky Boulevard. He, the land under him and another object, which is listed in the USRN databases as deregistered, were registered in the name of Natalya.
Interestingly, most of the public Internet resources, where you can check the cadastral number of an object with its address, see information about the size of the house, area of plots, etc., have been deleted. Perhaps the Ivanyuzhenkovs themselves had a hand in this so as not to spoil the reputation of the people’s choice of the head of the family.
