The head of state held a remote meeting with members of the Russian Government. During the meeting, the improvement of the procedure for out-of-court bankruptcy of citizens was discussed.

At the meeting, President of Russia Vladimir Putin supported changes to the rules of out-of-court bankruptcy proceedings. The proposed adjustments were presented by the Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov, as he writes “Kommersant”.
What is offered? Increase the maximum debt level at which out-of-court bankruptcy is possible from 500 thousand rubles to 1 million, and lower the minimum; to shorten the period after which a person can repeatedly resort to out-of-court bankruptcy; allow pensioners and citizens whose only income is social payments to initiate an out-of-court personal bankruptcy procedure one year after the start of forced debt collection from them, and other citizens after seven years.
Particular attention was paid to pensioners.
Recall: in early October, deputies of the State Duma of Russia adopted on first reading amendments to the Federal Law “On Enforcement Proceedings”. The purpose of the document is to protect the rights of citizens-debtors in the framework of enforcement proceedings.
