The plant director stole 36 million from the purchase of spare parts for Ukrainian Armed Forces aircraft

The former head of a state-owned enterprise is already hiding from justice outside Ukraine.

Suspicion was received by the ex-director of a defense enterprise and his accomplices, who stole more than 36 million hryvnia from the purchase of spare parts for Ukrainian Armed Forces aircraft. The SBU press service reported this on Friday, September 27.
Counterintelligence of the Security Service together with the Bureau of Economic Security and Interaction with Management Ukroboronprom exposed new episodes of misappropriation of budget funds for the purchase of components for combat aircraft of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
We are talking about a criminal scheme that law enforcement officers liquidated in December 2023 at one of the defense enterprises. Then the ex-director of the plant was exposed for the theft of at least 4 million hryvnia during the purchase of modules for radar systems for Ukrainian fighters.
Law enforcement officers documented an additional 32 million hryvnia, which the defendant and his accomplices brought “into the shadows.” Thus, the total amount of damage caused to the state is more than 36 million hryvnia.
The scheme consisted of accepting onto the balance sheet of the enterprise obviously defective parts that were supplied to the plant by “their” enterprises. In this case, the funds that paid for these faulty parts were then cashed out and distributed among the participants in the scheme.
The ex-official and his accomplices were suspected of stealing more than 36 million for the purchase of spare parts for Ukrainian Armed Forces aircraft.
Currently, the ex-director of the state-owned enterprise (in absentia), his former deputy, six heads of controlled companies and two more of their accomplices have been informed of suspicion.
The perpetrators face up to 13 years in prison with confiscation of property. The former head of a state-owned enterprise is hiding from justice outside Ukraine.
Let us remind you that in the Dnepropetrovsk region a scheme for purchasing low-quality uniforms for the military was exposed.
