The court sentenced Alexander Mavridi, accused of murdering the owner of the Meat Empire, to 20 years in a strict regime colony. Vladimir Marugov, kidnapping lawyer Alexei Zavgorodniy and extorting real estate from him, as well as escaping from the detention center during the investigation. Mavridi previously pleaded guilty and expressed his desire to participate in the military operation. His accomplices received from 6.5 to 13 years in prison.
On June 26, the Moscow Regional Court sentenced Alexander Mavridi, the murderer of the “sausage king” Vladimir Marugov and the organizer of the mass escape from the temporary detention facility in Istra, to 20 years in a strict regime colony.

In addition, Mavridi was sentenced to restriction of freedom for 1.5 years after serving his sentence in a colony.
The court partially satisfied the civil claims of the mother and common-law wife of the murdered businessman Marugov. It was decided to recover 1.5 million rubles from Mavridi in favor of Marugov’s common-law wife Sabina. 2 million rubles will be recovered from the accused in favor of the mother of the murdered.
As follows from the case file, the murder of the owner of the “Meat Empire” was due to his divorce from his wife Tatiana. Mavridi felt personal sympathy for her and decided to eliminate Marugov so that the property conflict between the spouses due to divorce would be resolved in favor of Tatyana.
During a speech in court, Mavridi argued that the murder of a businessman was not contracted, but “a simple coincidence.”
The prosecutor asked to appoint the defendant for a year more. For his accomplices, the prosecutor demanded from 6.5 to 16 years in prison.
Mavridi, according to the investigation and the supervisory authority, acted as both the organizer and the perpetrator of the crimes, the prosecution specifically asked to take these points into account when sentencing.
As a result, the court sentenced Mavridi’s accomplice Pasha Akhmedov to 13 years in a strict regime colony, Konstantin Barsky was sentenced to eight years in a strict regime colony. The accomplice of the accused in the murder, a citizen of Moldova, Alexander Butnar, received 11.5 years in a strict regime colony, Denis Grozav and Nikolai Teterya – 6 years and 6 months in a general regime colony, and Ivan Turcan – 7.5 years in a strict regime colony.

Fake bankruptcy?
