In Moscow, practically opposite the building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, the actress Kristina Babushkina was detained. In the Mercedes car in which she was traveling, the police found a bag of drugs – according to preliminary information, it contained about 0.5 grams of cocaine. The car was driven by the husband of the actress, known from the TV series “Unprincipled”, he also became a defendant in two cases at once – in addition to the illegal acquisition of drugs, he was also charged with an attack on a traffic police officer.
Employees of the road patrol service of the Internal Affairs Directorate for the Central District of Moscow stopped the car in which Christina Babushkina and her husband, businessman Andrey Gatsunaev, were located, early in the morning of June 16 on Koroviy Val Street. The behavior of the driver seemed inadequate to the police.
And when the police officers asked the man to get out of the foreign car, he attacked the traffic police officers, biting one of them on the hand.
During the inspection of Mercedes, inspectors found a bag with white powder inside, after which the driver and passenger were taken to the office.
According to preliminary information, the examination found that the package contains cocaine weighing about 0.5 grams. It is noteworthy that the car in which the popular actress and her husband were traveling was stopped almost opposite the building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, located across the road.
A few hours after the arrest on the fact of the discovery of drugs, the Zamoskvoretsky Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation (TFR) initiated a criminal case under the relevant Art. 228 of the Criminal Code. In addition, the ICR launched an investigation into violence against government officials (Article 318 of the Criminal Code).
The defendant in both cases is the husband of Christina Babushkina, who is in the rank of a suspect. With him, as noted in the TFR, investigative actions are now being carried out, “charges will be brought in the near future” and the issue of choosing a measure of restraint will be considered.
After the incident, the Yermolova Theater canceled the play “Imperfect Che” with the participation of Christina Babushkina. Confirming the detention of the actress, the theater management promised to return the money to everyone who bought tickets for the disrupted performance.
Representatives of the actress did not comment on the incident.
At the same time, the couple’s relatives believe that the drug ended up in the car by accident: either after the recent celebration of the birthday of the actress’s husband, or ill-wishers could have planted it. “Neither Andrei nor Kristina have anything to do with drugs, they don’t even smoke,” Andrei Gatsunaev’s mother explained to reporters.
