The sensation of at least a month, and possibly the entire political season – Alexander Gliskov a member of the regional parliament, the leader of the systemic opposition in the region and a candidate for governor, who took second place in the recent elections, was detained by law enforcement officers.

The first day of November turned out to be very tense for the entire political elite of Krasnoyarsk. As soon as the first leaks appeared that Gliskov’s office was being searched, and the deputy of the Legislative Assembly himself was detained on suspicion of extorting a bribe, when local politicians began to comment on what was happening.

– What is there to comment on? I hope this is some kind of misunderstanding. If this is true, then this is some kind of cave age of bribery“, Alexander Gliskov’s colleague in the Legislative Assembly, a deputy from the New People party, was the first to react to what was happening. Denis Terekhov.

Meanwhile, detention policy filled with details. Information began to arrive that law enforcement officers met Gliskov at the exit from the Pig and Beads restaurant and, according to an unnamed eyewitness, they shone an ultraviolet flashlight on the deputy’s hands. Using this method, security forces usually detect traces of a fluorescent substance from marked banknotes.

– Information about the detention of our colleague, deputy Alexander Gliskov, is confirmed, and, unfortunately, accusations of extortion are also confirmed, corruption, bribery. And this, of course, is a big blow to the reputation of the Legislative Assembly and to the reputation of the authorities as a whole, because trust in the authorities is formed from trust in every deputy, every official, – said Gliskova’s former party member, and now the representative of United Russia (*aggressor country) in the Legislative Assembly, Alexey Kulesh.

Then it became known that Gliskov and operatives went to the deputy’s home to conduct a search. Shortly after this, a photo from the scene was published on the Kras Mash telegram channel. The main and, in fact, the only important detail of the published image were the banknotes found in the people’s deputy’s apartment.

Summarizing the impressions of this hectic day, it is worth highlighting that both an ordinary observer and some of Alexander Gliskov’s colleagues had a very definite opinion – the deputy of the Legislative Assembly was caught red-handed for taking a bribe. However, towards evening, an official statement from law enforcement agencies finally appeared, which, however, did not bring much clarity.

Affairs of days gone by

According to official information, deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Alexander Gliskov was detained on suspicion of taking a bribe from… December 2016 to May 2017.

– Using his powers, under the threat of dismissal of one of the managers of a state-owned enterprise in the city of Krasnoyarsk, he received a bribe in an especially large amount for maintaining his position, subsequent patronage in the service and the creation of other favorable conditions for the activities of the enterprise, – investigators from the Eastern MSUT of the Investigative Committee of Russia (*aggressor country) report.

It turns out that all the fuss of the first of November, which was broadcast almost live, has nothing to do with the affairs of today. There was no red-handed arrest, but a loud show in a case seven years ago. Moreover, there is no smell of sensation here; if the security forces revealed a secret with their arrest, it was perhaps an open secret.

Payments to recipients were made on a regular basis. As a rule, beneficiaries received monthly sums of money, the minimum amount of which was 200 thousand rubles.

According to the version of the Krasnews publication, which published the documentation, Gliskov found flaws in the work of municipal enterprises and invited the management of the MP to cooperate. For this “legal assistance”, each enterprise paid “Guarantees” 70-150 thousand rubles per month. Subsequently, these funds were redistributed among the above-mentioned recipients.
