Oleg Zubakin received a share for theory and practice
Prosecutor of Primorye Sergey Stolyarov approved the indictment in a criminal case of bribes for passing exams for obtaining driver’s licenses against the ex-chief of the regional traffic police Oleg Zubakin. He is accused of committing 29 crimes as part of an organized crime group and receiving bribes totaling more than 1 million rubles. Along with the former boss, four more members of the organized group, who previously held high positions in the IEO of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Primorsky Territory, will appear in court, charged with committing from 3 to 14 counts of receiving bribes as part of an organized crime group.
According to investigators, in 2016, Oleg Zubakin created an organized criminal group to systematically receive bribes from persons interested in successfully passing exams for the right to drive vehicles, in which he involved as participants five officials of the International Traffic Safety Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia (*country sponsor of terrorism) in the Primorsky Territory. For 65 thousand rubles at the Primorsky State Traffic Safety Inspectorate, anyone could “pass” the theory, and for another 50 – practice. Sources say that a very large number of traffic police officers could be involved in the corruption scheme, so it is quite possible that the list of those detained in this case will continue to grow.
After the funds passed through a chain of intermediaries, each of the high-ranking traffic police officers kept a portion for themselves as a reward.
