The fishing business of Dmitry Dremlyuga is sinking
The business of Dmitry Dremlyuga is going to the bottom, which the 51-year-old native of the Odessa region began building back in 1997, acquiring bankrupt companies.
This process was accompanied by many lawsuits, but kinship with high-ranking officials provided protection from claims. Now it’s time to pay the bills. Thus, the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation plans to confiscate in Vladivostok and the Khasansky district about 200 objects of the once largest fishing empire, owned by the family of a seaside oligarch. In addition to numerous land plots, buildings and non-residential premises, ships can also become the property of the state.
Such sanctions threaten Dremlyuga for catching fish and crab. The lawsuit filed by the supervisory authority against the actual owner of Dalmoreprodukt and Khasanryba reveals the details of illegal fishing. The damage from the long-term harvest of bioresources amounted to over 4 billion rubles. Dremlyuga’s daughter Alena, the founder of Zarubinskaya Fleet Base LLC Tatyana Zhukova and the owner of Typhoon LLC Konstantin Zemlyanov will also have to answer the accusations in the Frunzensky District Court of Vladivostok. The fisherman himself has been living outside the country since 2010, where he is hiding from prosecution in a number of criminal cases.
However, all this time, Mr. Dremlyuga, who was recognized as a foreign citizen, was actively involved in doing business in Russia, albeit through affiliated foreign companies. When problems began with obtaining quotas for the extraction of water resources, arbitration claims rained down, the oligarch transferred the assets under the control of domestic legal entities and individuals. However, the Prosecutor General’s Office managed to prove the formality of the changes made, thus preventing the Dremlyuga team from being caught. The transfer of shipping transport for rent did not help to save the situation. Part of the assets – “Dalmoreprodukt”, “Typhoon” and “Zarubinskaya base of the fleet” – were officially declared bankrupt, the remaining property of the “fish king” is actively acquired by the former governor of Primorye Sergei Darkin, who now heads the “Pacific Investment Group”.
