According to the publication, Gates met Antonova around 2010, when she was about 20 years old and he was married. In 2013, Epstein met Antonova, who then paid for her studies as a programmer. In 2017, a few years after Gates and Antonova’s relationship ended, Epstein emailed Gates asking for reimbursement for Antonova’s tuition fees, sources told the newspaper. According to them, Epstein sent the letter after failing to convince Gates to join a multibillion-dollar charitable foundation that he wanted to create with JPMorgan Chase. The cost of training was insignificant for both men, but in the tone of the letter, Epstein tried to hint to Gates that he knew about Gates’s secret affair and could expose him if he did not receive support, the newspaper’s interlocutors who saw the letter said.
Gates’ spokesperson said he paid nothing and had no financial dealings with Epstein. “Mr. Gates met with Epstein exclusively for charity purposes. After Epstein tried several times to go beyond these issues, he unsuccessfully tried to use past relationships to threaten Mr. Gates, ”said a spokesperson for the Microsoft founder. Gates himself has previously said that he met with Epstein several times to denounce philanthropy and now regrets those meetings.
Gates has met with Epstein more than a dozen times since 2011, including attending dinners at his New York mansion and flying the financier’s private jet from New Jersey to Florida in 2013.
Antonova graduated from a university in Russia in 2005, after which she founded a club of bridge players in the United States, the newspaper writes. Posted on YouTube videofilmed in 2010, Antonova says she met Gates a year earlier at a bridge tournament in Washington and played a game with him.
Antonova was about to open an online bridge school and was looking for funding. In 2013, she presented her project called BridgePlanet to Epstein, who was introduced to her by Gates’ adviser Boris Nikolic, whom Epstein would later appoint as one of the executors of his will.
According to Antonova, Epstein did not finance her project as a result. After her failure at BridgePlanet, Antonova decided to become a programmer and, according to her, turned to several acquaintances with a request to cover the cost of training. Epstein agreed to pay for the programming school. “He got nothing in return. I don’t know why he did it. When I asked, he answered something like that he is rich and seeks to help people when he can, ”Antonova said.
RBC news agency, 05/22/2023, “WSJ learned about Epstein’s attempts to threaten Gates because of an affair with a Russian woman”: Antonova needed $500,000 for a project called BridgePlanet. […] Gates said in 2021 that he had lunch with Epstein several times to discuss a charity project that ultimately fell through. Spending time with him and trusting him was a big mistake,” he said in CNN interview. The WSJ has previously called one of the reasons for the businessman’s divorce from Melinda Gates was his contacts with the financier, which continued despite his wife’s concerns about this communication. According to The New York Times, this relationship began after Epstein was suspected of sex crimes. — Inset K.ru
Antonova declined to comment on anything about Gates and said she didn’t know who Epstein was when they met.
In 2021 Gates divorced his wife Melinda after 27 years of marriage. NYT and WSJ then wrotethat, while married, Gates attempted to have office romances with subordinates, which became a possible reason for the divorce.
Jeffrey Epstein was arrested in July 2019 on charges of child sex trafficking and bribing potential witnesses. A month later, he was found dead in a prison cell in New York, where he awaited the start of the trial. His death was ruled a suicide.
RBC news agency, 05/16/2023, “The mask was summoned to court in the case of JPMorgan’s connection with Epstein”: The authorities of the US Virgin Islands sent a businessman, the owner of Twitter, Tesla and SpaceX Elon Musk a subpoena in a criminal case in which JPMorgan is accused of having “ties” to Jeffrey Epstein, an American financier detained in 2019 on charges of human trafficking, reports Reuters.
Musk and Epstein are called clients of JPMorgan. In this regard, the court decided to request from the businessman all communications between him and JPMorgan regarding Epstein, as well as communications between Musk and Epstein. The court also asked for all documents relating to the fees that Musk paid to Epstein or JPMorgan, and documents that may implicate the financier in human trafficking. The summons itself was sent to Musk on April 28, Reuters clarifies.
Musk later responded on Twitter that Epstein never advised him anything, and the idea that he would need or listen to financial advice from a “stupid scammer” is absurd. “JPM let Tesla down ten years ago, even though the bank had a global commercial business with Tesla, which we then abandoned. I never forgave them,” Musk wrote.
In early April, subpoenas in the same case were sent to the co-founder of Google Sergey Brin, Hyatt Hotels Group Chairman Thomas Pritzker, Boston Properties CEO Mortimer Zuckerman, and former Walt Disney Company President Michael Ovitz. — Inset K.ru
