As a result of the investigation, another fraudulent scheme related to the purchase of low-quality military uniforms for the army was exposed.
Law enforcement officials have exposed another fraudulent scheme in the army. The former commander of a military unit in the eastern region and his accomplice received suspicion.
This was reported by the State Bureau of Investigation.
According to the investigation, from January to March 2023, the suspects, using their official position, acted for mercenary motives to illegally enrich the enterprise at the expense of budgetary funds.
The woman supplied military uniforms that did not meet the requirements – they could not be used for their intended purpose. The unit commander, being negligent in the performance of his official duties, accepted this product using invoices.
The amount of damage to the state is almost 140 million hryvnia.
During the searches, $20,700, 7,100 euros, 231 thousand hryvnia, mobile phones, notebooks and documentation were found on the defendants.
The ex-commander was declared suspected of negligent attitude towards military service (Part 4 of Article 425 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), and the ex-director of the LLC was accused of fraud (Part 5 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
