The spirit from which the drink “Mr. Cider” was made was obtained from the economic warehouse of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Samara. About it informs department press office. According to security officials, the batch has been stored in a warehouse since 2012. The Ministry of Internal Affairs says that the alcohol was taken by two residents of Samara, whose identity is not specified. According to the press service of the department, they were let into the utility room by a police sergeant. All three are detained. The release also states that Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev fired from his posts Major General Yuri Safronov and Colonel Alexander Remnev, who were responsible for the activities of the economic units of the Samara police. More than 30 residents of the Volga region died from poisoning with the drink “Mr. Cider”. One case of poisoning was also recorded in the Kurgan region. The first cases of cider poisoning became known on the evening of 5 June. On June 6, the Leninsky District Court of Ulyanovsk arrested the Samara businessman Anar Huseynov, whose company produced the drink. He is accused of providing services that do not meet security requirements (Part 3 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code).
