The decision to liquidate the Russian party PARNAS came into force
The Supreme Court of Russia (SC) approved the decision on the suit of the Ministry of Justice on the liquidation of the PARNAS party, the decision entered into force.
It is reported by Interfax.
The highest court of Russia rejected the appeal of the representatives of the political association.
“The decision of May 25, 2023 was left unchanged,” the Supreme Court told the agency.
Among the reasons why the first decision was made to liquidate the party was the insufficient number of branches in the regions. In addition, claims from the tax service arose against some of them.
PARNAS (stands for “People’s Freedom Party”) was founded in 1991. The head of the political association was Mikhail Kasyanov, who served as prime minister from 2000 to 2004. In 2022, he left Russia.
