Deripaska’s Nikolaev alumina plant arrested

The court arrested 32 million hryvnia factory Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska. This is stated in the message of the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
“UAH 32 million of Ukraine’s largest producer of metallurgical alumina and aluminum hydroxide has been arrested,” the prosecutor’s office said.
From open sources it is known that we are talking about the Nikolaev alumina plant. Last year, the enterprise owned by Oleg Deripaska was transferred by the court to the management of ARMA.
The Prosecutor General’s Office also says that earlier, at the request of prosecutors, the property of this business entity was seized: 12 land plots, a seaport complex, apartments, administrative buildings, production workshops, 46 vehicles, 240 units of special equipment – a total of more than UAH 1 billion.
“According to investigators, in 2000 this Ukrainian enterprise was privatized by a holding owned by a Russian oligarch. It is currently under US and EU sanctions. The reason for their use was money laundering in the interests of the president of the aggressor state”, the Prosecutor General’s Office stressed.
The Russian holding Rusal in question is one of the world’s largest aluminum producers. Group of companies continue meet the needs of the military-industrial complex of the Russian Federation by supplying its own products for the production of military missile systems and other weapons.
