The conflict between Prigozhin and Kuyvashev entered a new phase

The conflict between the founder of Wagner PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin and the governor of the Sverdlovsk region Yevgeny Kuyvashev has received a new development.

After Prigozhin accused Kuyvashev and the regional authorities of “openly shitting” and not supporting the special operation in Ukraine, the Ural governor recommended that Prigozhin not interfere in the affairs of the region and return to his usual business of continuing to organize school meals. In response, Prigozhin reminded Kuyvashev how they dealt with regional bureaucrats during the Great Patriotic War. The conflict between the governor and the businessman began at the end of 2022 against the background of the appointment of a new director of the Museum of the History of Yekaterinburg. The governor of the Sverdlovsk region, Yevgeny Kuyvashev, after criticism from the founder of Wagner PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin, who accused him and the heads of several other regions of “uniform lawlessness” in support of the special operation, recommended that he not interfere in the affairs of the region.

“This time [Пригожин] For some reason, he said that we have “chaos” going on. “Lawlessness”, Eugene, is what you poke your nose into the regional administration and personnel policy. If every businessman who earns money from school meals tries to run the country, we will not get far. Everyone should mind their own business. You cook cutlets and cook pasta, and we will figure it out in the regions ourselves, ”Kuyvashev said in an interview with 66.ru.

On February 22, Prigozhin accused the governors of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, St. Petersburg, and the Sverdlovsk Region of “openly crap.” He called the situation in some Russian subjects “formal lawlessness.”

In response to Kuyvashev’s words, Prigogine noted his impoliteness and recalled how the problem of regional bureaucracy was solved in 1941-1945.

“Since we switched from YOU to “YOU”, then I can answer YOU the following: The country is in a difficult position, because there are such regional bureaucrats as YOU. During the war of 1941-1945, which is being repeated now, Stalin simply shot people like YOU and Beglov (Governor of St. Petersburg. – approx. “Gazeta.Ru”). I think we’ll get back to it soon. I am sure that the time is not far off when the people will reach the boiling point and raise YOU and people like YOU on their pitchforks, ”

Prigogine said.

He also pointed out that Kuyvashev’s activities are accompanied by “continuous liberal and LGBT scandals.” In addition, he recalled that Kuyvashev studied at Yale University in the United States. “It seems that YOU were taught life not by the Russian people, but by Yale University, where YOU comprehended hatred for this people. I recommend that YOU either go to the front and prove that YOU are not a complete nonentity, or stick your tongue where YOU can control it, ”said Prigozhin.

The media wrote about Kuyvashev’s studies at Yale in the 2010s. The governor himself did not confirm the fact of training: “I did not study at Yale – I just listened to lectures there. I didn’t study, I don’t have a diploma”.

Touching on the topic of cutlets and pasta, Prigozhin noted that after the start of the special operation, he stopped doing business, and “fully devoted his life to leading the most, perhaps, the most combat-ready military unit in the country, the Wagner PMC.

Roots of the conflict

The businessman’s spat with the Sverdlovsk authorities began at the end of 2022. On December 19, Prigozhin called for the dismissal of the newly appointed director of the Museum of the History of Yekaterinburg, Igor Pushkarev, who was previously a journalist for Znak.com. According to him, the Wagner security service checked the information about Pushkarev and found out that he received information from Western intelligence agencies, including the US CIA.

According to the operational data of the Wagner PMC security service, Pushkarev received information from acting agents of American and British intelligence, as well as from their agents of influence. The information was purposefully thrown in by the Western intelligence services and led to losses among the PMC personnel and the disruption of special operations.

The appointment of Pushkarev as director of the museum became known on December 14. It was reported that, in connection with this, Prigozhin tried to call Yekaterinburg Mayor Alexei Orlov and Governor Kuyvashev to discuss the situation with them, but could not.

However, later the conversation nevertheless took place, and Orlov, according to Prigozhin, promised him to check the information about Pushkarev.

On December 21, 2022, Pushkarev was summoned to the police, where an administrative protocol was drawn up against him under an article on discrediting the Russian army. On January 25, 2023, Pushkarev was fined 30,000 rubles for discrediting the RF Armed Forces. The reason was a Facebook post (the owner, Meta, was recognized as extremist in Russia and banned). Pushkarev pleaded not guilty.

Now, according to the website of the Museum of the History of Yekaterinburg, the director is Sergey Kamensky. However, he resigned of his own free will at the end of October 2022. The dismissal of Pushkarev was not reported.

Funeral without honors

On January 21, it became known that the deceased Wagner fighter Ivan Savkin, who joined the PMC from the colony, was refused to be buried with honors – without a gun salute and a military guard. The mother of the deceased reported the situation.

“We planned to arrange a farewell in the same place (in the Kamyshlov district. – approx. Gazeta.Ru). But the administration categorically refused to help us. When asked to provide a place in the club, they said: “I would be free, but he is a former convict,” she told the e1.ru portal.

Later, the head of the Eastern rural settlement, Nikolai Zhursky, told the publication that his relatives did not personally contact him with such a request and communicated with his deputy, who, according to him, approved the burial. “No dates were discussed, and then they disappeared. I called his grandmother, brought her condolences,” he said.

Prigogine drew attention to the situation.

Unfortunately, I was not aware that the mayor’s office of the Kamyshlov district of the Sverdlovsk region decided to show its bestiality in this way. We will deal with the scum and try to pull their children by the nostrils to participate in the NWO, ”he said.

Prigozhin also cited a report from the commander of the deceased Ivan Savkin, which states that the fighter participated in the assault on the buildings of Bakhmut (Artemovsk), in which he single-handedly neutralized the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In the further assault on the complex of buildings during artillery shelling, he received injuries incompatible with life.
