The Moscow Regional Court sentenced Gennady Korotenko, a retired colonel of the GRU (now the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Russia), hero of Abkhazia, Gennady Korotenko, to 16 years in a strict regime colony in the criminal case of the murder in 2014 of Nikolai Martynov, co-owner of the manufacturer of reagents for the oil and gas industry Sintez OJSC, Nikolai Martynov, the newspaper writes. Kommersant. Anton Erokhin, the partner of the murdered man, was also in the dock; he was recognized by the court as the mastermind of the crime and will spend 15 years behind bars. The third alleged accomplice was acquitted by the jury.
As the court established, a conflict arose between Martynov and Erokhin, who wanted to become the owner of the enterprise. The latter agreed with a partner to buy out his stake in Sintez OJSC and took out a loan of about €55 million. However, after the purchase of the shares, it turned out that the company had a large debt to the Cypriot company Clinolina Holding Limited, whose co-founder was Martynov, and that in the case If the debt is not repaid, all shares of the enterprise are transferred to the creditor.
Then, according to the version of the Main Investigative Committee of the ICR for the Moscow Region, Erokhin decided to kill Martynov. To do this, he turned to a friend – a retired colonel of the GRU, the centurion of the Cossack army Korotenko.
Martynov was killed on March 30, 2014 with a pistol near his house in Iksha, Moscow Region.
“Kommersant”, 02/17/2017, “Contract murder revealed in garage tracks”: 56-year-old Nikolai Martynov, co-founder of the Cypriot company Clinolia Holding Limited, which owns several enterprises in Russia for the production of raw materials and equipment for the oil and gas and chemical industries, was killed on March 30, 2014 near his private house in Iksha, near Moscow. On the evening of that day, the businessman returned home after attending a performance at the Vakhtangov Theater. Leaving the car, he began to open the gate with the key and at that moment came under fire. The killer’s bullets hit Mr. Martynov in the head and chest. […]
On the same day, the owner of the garage, a local resident Gennady Korotenko, was detained, who had a Makarov pistol in his pocket at the time of the meeting with the operatives. The detainee himself explained that he took the PM to protect the garden plots, in which his organization is involved – “Cossack freemen named after Yermak Timofeevich”, which is structurally part of the Volga Cossack army. The found arsenal, according to the Cossack, did not belong to him, but to some “accidental acquaintance” to whom he rented his garage. […]
Four months later, the probable customer of the murder was found and taken into custody – he turned out to be Mr. Martynov’s 35-year-old business partner Anton Erokhin. According to the investigation, about a year before the assassination attempt, serious disagreements arose between businessmen. […] At first, the co-founders agreed that Mr. Erokhin would buy out his stake in Clinolia from Mr. Martynov for 2.6 billion rubles, but at some stage of the auction, the price, apparently, seemed too high to the buyer. As a result, according to investigators, he decided to simply eliminate the seller by contracting the Cossack Korotenko, who provided him with security services, for this action. […] With the death of Mr. Martynov, the financial position of the prospective customer “significantly worsened.” This, by the way, is evidenced by the decision of the Moscow Arbitration Court, which declared Mr. Erokhin, who owed more than 383 million rubles to one of the banks as a guarantor for loans, bankrupt. — Inset K.ru
The customer paid Korotenko 1 million rubles. They figured him out from the husks from the seeds at the crime scene. Korotenko fled in a car driven by the third defendant in the case, former Lugansk policeman Ilya Chitalin. The jury acquitted him.
Erokhin’s lawyers argued that he did not know about the existence of the Cyprus offshore and the loan, so he had no reason to kill his partner. In turn, Korotenko’s lawyers said that their client could not have committed the murder, because that day he was in Nizhny Novgorod, where he celebrated the birthday of a friend. The defense also mentioned in court that a retired GRU colonel was a disabled person of the second group, and for participating in hostilities he received the title of Hero of Abkhazia and was awarded the Order of Courage, the Red Banner, etc.
“Kommersant”, 07/01/2023, “The Hero of Abkhazia was recognized as a killer”: At the same time, the state prosecutor asked to impose a fine of 250 thousand rubles on each, and also to satisfy the claim of the widow of the deceased Nadezhda Martynova in the amount of 93 million rubles. Of these, 3 million rubles. were compensation for the cost of the funeral of the spouse, and the remaining 90 million were to compensate for the moral damage caused to the widow.
The representative of the victim said that no money could make up for the death of a loved one for Ms. Martynova – she still suffers from depression. […] The claim of the widow defendants asked to reject, referring to the fact that she did not provide convincing evidence necessary for compensation. […] The military retiree could have counted on a shorter term, but he was let down by the arsenal found during the search, which, among other things, included the Igla portable anti-aircraft missile system and a pair of machine guns.
The judge ordered the convicts to pay the widow of the deceased 1.5 million rubles each in order to compensate for the costs of the funeral. The remaining amount is 90 million rubles. she may seek to recover in civil proceedings. The lawyers of the convicts are going to appeal the verdict, the acquitted Chitalin is counting on compensation from the state for unjustified criminal prosecution, and Sintez, because of the struggle for which the murder was committed, is at the stage of bankruptcy. — Inset K.ru
News.ru, 03/10/2020, “Cossack killer and policeman from the LPR: who hunted for a Roscosmos partner”: The Nizhny Novgorod Sintez PV LLC, declared bankrupt in December, is called the only Russian manufacturer of fuel for Soyuz space rockets and satellites. The owner of this supplier of Roscosmos and Rostec was the Cypriot offshore Clinolina Holding Limited, whose co-owner was shot dead in March 2014. […] The bankruptcy case of Sintez PV LLC was initiated in 2017 after applying to the court of the New Moscow Bank. Prior to this, the capital arbitration ordered the company from Dzerzhinsk to pay 280.9 million rubles to the credit institution. […] In turn, Andrey Nikitin, First Deputy General Director of Sintez OJSC, in an interview with NEWS.ru emphasized that their subsidiary is the only Russian manufacturer of “space” peroxide, but there is no cause for concern, despite the bankruptcy. […]
According to him, despite the bankruptcy story of Sintez PV LLC, it remains profitable and brings about 60 million rubles a year, and in some years this amount reached 100 million. Nikitin assured that the bankruptcy is connected “with the activities of unscrupulous owners” . According to him, we are talking about Anton Erokhin, who, according to the investigation, “ordered” a business partner, Nikolai Martynov. […]
Erokhin was engaged in the fact that he went to banks with a package of documents and took out loans. They were transferred to his companies, and Sintez PV LLC received a load. Currently, this company is loaded with Erokhin loans for about 1.2 billion. One of the lenders was the New Moscow Bank, which in 2013 issued Erokhin’s company about 130 million rubles. Some time later, after delays, Erokhin negotiates with the bank to issue the same loan to Sintez PV LLC, so that Sintez PV pays off his (Erokhin. – NEWS.ru) debts. Now a criminal case has been opened against individuals who did all this,” Nikitin added. […] As for Sintez PV LLC, despite the death of one of its final beneficiaries and the second being behind bars, it will continue to work and produce strategic products. According to NEWS.ru, the company is currently owned by Nikolai Martynov’s party on shares with IFC Bank. — Inset K.ru
