In advertising for city companies, they promise from 49 thousand rubles a month with full employment and the fulfillment of “especially important production tasks”, which still needs to be proven. Under normal conditions, the salary is only 29 thousand for a full day of hard physical labor, so there are few applicants. Inventory in urban structures is old, and there is not enough harvesting transport. In private companies, subject to the prosperity of the residents, there are good shovels and harvesting equipment. The coordination of work in the companies of Smolny also causes criticism: janitors are sent to where the “burning” is, or they are waiting for the visit of officials with journalists. In private companies, the employee himself understands which area needs to be put in order. The only thing that city companies have succeeded in is PR: city newspapers and TV channels beautifully talk about improving the comfort of working conditions for janitors. Private companies do without PR and even suffer accusations of gross shortcomings. So, officials and personally Governor Alexander Beglov repeatedly tried to shift responsibility for uncleaned sidewalks to commercial structures, and also reproached entrepreneurs for their unwillingness to create comfortable conditions and pay well.
