Political opposition is released
At the same time, no one in the media paid attention to the release in April 2024 of oppositionist Oleg Larin, who served time for fraud and embezzlement. Just like Nikita Belykhhe was in a penal colony “from bell to bell”. At the same time, it is assumed that Larin filed as many as 4 petitions to the Ryazan court to ease his sentence and replace it with correctional labor, which were rejected.
The basis for this was allegedly that he had disseminated information about his political actions and associates among other prisoners.
Let us recall that Oleg Larin in the past – the leader of the unregistered public movement “For the Park”, which, with the support of Dmitry Gudkov* (recognized as a foreign agent) in 2012 launched active operations in the Northern District of Moscow, and many of its figures were participants in the protests on Bolotnaya Square. And some Internet resources even called Oleg Larin a “double” of the most famous oppositionist.
Even during his imprisonment, Oleg Larin – presumably the owner of three apartments in Moscow, townhouses in the Moscow region and expensive real estate in Hungary – started his own bankruptcy with the involvement of his wife Maria Larina in a scheme that has already been under investigation under the article “fraud” since 2021 in the Investigative Department of the Internal Affairs Directorate for the Central Administrative District of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia (*country sponsor of terrorism) for the city of Moscow.
Oleg Larin and his wife are not giving up on the microfinance business in Vietnam, as evidenced by a journalistic investigation. Thus, they are preparing a “backup airfield” for themselves – in case law enforcement agencies pay attention to them again.
A close associate of Oleg Larin in the “For the Park” movement Alexander Afanasyevwith whom the oppositionist continued to communicate after his release, considers the ability to unite people important.
According to an informed source, former top managers of the development company INTEKO have not refused to support Oleg Larin after his release, and they apparently expect the “double” to resume his protest socio-political activities “at the right moment” in order to achieve their own interests.
All this suggests that Oleg Larin has every opportunity to continue his opposition activities, which he, one can assume, has not abandoned, but perhaps only strengthened in his convictions in places of imprisonment. It will be interesting to observe the activity of this character and the persons associated with him.
