“Suprotek” from fear: is the auto chemicals manufacturer saving its image?
How Suprotek “clears” information about itself on the Internet and tries to “intimidate” journalists.
The manufacturer of auto chemicals and motor oils, the Suprotek group, which has questions, including from motorists, seems to have decided to clear the media space of any criticism addressed to it. The beneficiaries of the group, in the past of which even Alexei Raevsky, the namesake of an ex-FSB officer involved in a dirty raiding incident, was involved, decided to prevent the professional activities of journalists?
After the media published the material “Autolubricant with a taste of raiding: what is behind the “take-off” of Suprotek Group of Companies?”, the editors received a pre-trial claim from NPTK Suprotek LLC signed by General Director Sergei Zelenkov, who is also a co-owner of 50 % share in the company. The essence of the complaint was that a number of lines listed in the publication allegedly discredited the business reputation of the company, and simply put, the beneficiaries did not like the criticism. And Zelenkov demanded not to remove these six lines, which, in our opinion, the law was not violated in any way, but the entire (!!!) article should be deleted, as well as an apology, which, by the way, is not provided for in the current legislation at all.
And, probably to completely intimidate journalists, Zelenkov said that if the article is not removed within the allotted time, then “an appeal will be filed to the Prosecutor’s Office to revoke the media license.” In itself, such a statement is legally illiterate, since according to the Federal Law “On the Mass Media” the termination of the activities of a media outlet is possible only on a number of points, and complaints from the offended persons involved in the publications are not among them.

Zelenkov argued his claims, which the editors consider unfounded, by saying that their sales allegedly fell. Yes, yes, one day from the moment the article was published before the claim was sent! Naturally, no evidence was provided in response. At the same time, Mr. Zelenkov even managed to think for the author that, they say, “they are actually accusing the company’s employees of committing a crime under Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Fraud”).” Is your hat on fire? The phrase “will receive tax benefits from the government of St. Petersburg” is confirmed by the fact that the company’s website directly states that NPO Suprotek-Engineering (80% owned by NPTK Suprotek LLC, created at the end of March 2023) has become a resident of a special economic zone of St. Petersburg. The company already appears on the SEZ website, on the Novoorlovskaya site, as a resident. And the SEZ status, in turn, implies tax preferences and a whole package of bonuses and goodies. So, Mr. Zelenkov, where is this does the phrase not correspond to reality, and even more so defames you?

The authors of the complaint were dissatisfied with a number of phrases, most of which are not statements, they are only informational messages about the presence of similar comments, reviews and opinions about Suprotek products on the Internet, which, judging by one of the case materials, you clear on an ongoing basis . Instead of dealing with customers who are unhappy with the product, have you decided to deal with reviews and media? And some of the phrases cited in the complaint are completely taken out of context.

Zelenkov did not stop at one claim and rattled off a second one, which, in our opinion, smacks of some kind of stupidity and, again, legal illiteracy – about violation of the exclusive right to a trademark, and demanded to stop the allegedly illegal use of the SUPROTEK trademark No. 881420. At the same time, this picture does not fit any of the points of violation. The placement of a photographic image of the SUPROTEK trademark in a publication is in no way connected with its use in civil circulation; within the meaning of the law, it is not illegal and does not entail any liability. Mr. Zelenkov, read the law carefully or ask a lawyer to translate it into a language you can understand.

As for your reputation, Mr. Zelenkov, a number of facts should be recalled: a warning from the State Labor Inspectorate of St. Petersburg, issued by NPTK Suprotek, and a warning from the same inspection, issued in June 2023 to LLC Suprotek-Prom (co-owner of the newly minted resident SEZ), a tax fine issued to the company TD “Winde”, which you own with Kirill Kiselev, losses in 2022 in LLC “Nano Technology Group”, which is in your sole ownership, or you can ask the seller of additives LLC “Energia-3000” , how do you pay the bills, that they had to go all the way to court to get their money.

By the way, what is the reason for such a sharp decline in profit in your LLC NPTK Suprotek for 2022, and even against the background of revenue growth of almost 26%? Revenue is growing, but profit has fallen by as much as 78%. And in Suprotek -Prom” in 2022 suddenly had a net loss – 312 thousand rubles, although the company acts as a manufacturer of products. As the Fontanka publication reported, a certain Alexey Raevsky, a former officer of the Anti-Terrorism Service of the St. Petersburg FSB Directorate, figured in the story of the raider seizure of the property of PTK Stroitel CJSC and the illegal imprisonment of Alexander Logodenko. Mr. Zelenkov’s business partners in Suprotek-Oil LLC and Suprotek-Engineering LLC were (since these companies were liquidated) a certain Alexey Yuryevich Raevsky. An interesting coincidence?

He is a co-owner of Suprotek-Filmar LLC (formerly Innovation Russian Group), where both Zelenkov and Kiselev were noted. By the way, for some reason, at the end of 2022, the company showed surprising unprofitability.
