“Suffered enough”: Efremov could be released from prison on parole as early as 2024

Okhlobystin hopes that his friend will be released on parole in 2024. And this may well happen, since Efremov’s wife previously spoke about his chance to get out of prison next year. According to Ivan Ivanovich, his 59-year-old colleague is very valuable for Russian culture, since he is a great artist and also an excellent director. “Mikhail has suffered enough,” says Okhlobystin. They say that mental anguish is the worst punishment for Efremov, who committed a monstrous act.

Let us recall that in 2020 Mikhail Olegovich was sentenced to 7.5 years in prison for a fatal accident. The artist, while driving drunk, drove into the oncoming lane and crashed into a van, the driver of which died a few hours later from his injuries.
