The head of the Council of Fathers of the Novosibirsk Region, Sergei Mayorov, explained why it was important for him to achieve the cancellation of the performance of the Splin group at the Wind of Siberia festival. The open-air is scheduled for the very end of summer and promises to bring together more than 30 Russian-speaking bands, among which there will be both very young performers and rock legends. What’s wrong with it? And why, in the opinion of the social activist, did the holiday poster require adjustments?
The scandalous reputation of the Wind of Siberia festival was first discussed back in 2022. The event was supposed to take place around mid-August. But when almost all the tickets were sold out, the audience learned that nothing would happen, and the money would not be returned. Like, this is not a cancellation, but a postponement. However, what was the surprise of music lovers when they finally saw brand new posters, on which Vadim Samoilov, a supporter of the SVO, stood shoulder to shoulder with Sasha Vasilyev, who spoke out in support of those who left the country. And among the other participants were the Kis-Kis group, which did not support the CBO, and Animal Jazz, whose soloist Alexander Krasovitsky criticized Russia’s actions in Ukraine.
The head of the Council of Fathers of the Novosibirsk Region, Sergei Mayorov, was also surprised by this. True, he was more interested in Vasiliev.
“I would like to appeal to the organizers and oblige them to cancel the performance of the Splin group,” the demand posted by him says. After all, its leader has long shown “whose side he is on now and whom he supports.”
According to Sergei, the name Vasiliev sounded for a reason. This is the wish of people who contact their council and send various information. In this case, it was confirmed. According to the public figure, the Splinov frontman really supports those who left.
“And during the war, such performances are unacceptable! Mayorov says in a conversation with the Daily Storm. “Our boys are shedding blood there. They give their lives! And here some artists express their phi and demonstrate their dissatisfaction.”
“Although I understand why this is happening,” Sergei reflects. – It started back in the late 80s, when they began to impose a different mentality and a different culture on us, and more than one generation grew up on this paradigm. Therefore, mentally they are there, in the West. But physically here. But there are other people too. Who grew up in a traditional culture and adhere to traditional values. How to be him?
When asked if he has a desire to talk with Sasha personally, Mayorov says that he would not refuse.
“I am ready to express my position,” he says, “and to hear his arguments or reflections. Maybe a person will really come to his senses and change his point of view.
The Splin group fell into disgrace back in August 2022, when, speaking at the Chernozem festival, Sasha Vasiliev dedicated his last song to the Time Machine, Aquarium and Tequilajazzz groups who left the country.
“But we hope that a bright day will come when they will return,” the musician wished, “and we will play here for you in Voronezh.”
By the way, while this material was being written, it turned out that the appeal of the Council of the Fathers still turned out to be heard. Now Vadim Samoilov flaunts on the poster of the festival “Wind of Siberia” without Vasiliev. The image of the artist was simply erased. He is not on the list of participants either.
According to information on the band’s official website, the band is currently touring Europe. March 31 “Spleen” gives a concert in Cyprus. And on April 2, he will perform in Tel Aviv.
