“Soul Country” crumbled in court

The Adler District Court sentenced Vladimir Khoruzhy, the founder and leader of the Soul Country sect. The man is accused of creating a non-profit organization that infringes on the personality and rights of citizens, and of torture.

The religious association lasted from 2008 to 2021. How many people were involved in its activities during this time is not indicated, but it is known that more than 30 people permanently resided on the territory of Abkhazia with their leader.

He brought up underage adherents on the ideas of Krishnaism and engaged in drill training with them. For disobedience, he beat, forced him to do push-ups in the cold, forbade him to watch movies and communicate with his relatives.

The leader of the sect was found guilty, he was sentenced to imprisonment for a term of 3 years and 6 months to be served in a penal colony, the Joint Press Service of the Courts of the Krasnodar Territory reports.
