The SPN company, which is part of the Marathon Group of Alexander Vinokurov, left the ownership of Demetra-Holding. The value of the deal is unknown. This was reported by Interfax, citing a source.

Demetra-Holding confirmed the sale of SPN’s stake. Marathon Group declined to comment.

“The deal was cash, and the Marathon Group recorded a profit from investments in Demetra Holding,” Interfax’s interlocutor said. He did not provide details of the deal.

Demetra-Holding includes large Russian grain terminals – Novorossiysk Grain Terminal (100%), Novorossiysk Grain Plant (35.36%), Taman grain terminal complex (50%), as well as other assets .

Marathon Group entered the capital of Demetra-Holding in 2020. The structure owned 10.57% of the holding’s shares through SPN LLC.

In July, the head of VTB, Andrey Kostin, announced that his bank, which owned a 45% stake, had left the structure of Demetra Holding. He did not say who became the new owner. Vedomosti wrote that the Omani company Southern Sea Investment LLC would acquire the stake. The grain trader confirmed the information, noting that the beneficiary of the buyer is an investment fund owned by the state of Oman. The size of the share was not specified.
