Konstantin Kozlovsky believes that someone appropriated his Swiss watch worth $100,000, which was kept in the form of material evidence in the storage room of the Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.

The leader of the hacker group Lurk Konstantin Kozlovsky, sentenced to 14 yearswrote a statement to the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation with a request to conduct an investigation into the disappearance of material evidence from the materials of his case – a watch of the Swiss brand Jaquet Droz worth 100 thousand dollars.

In a statement written by Kozlovsky, he says that during the search in 2016, the investigators attached the watch to the case file, they were left in the storage room of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. In 2022, Kozlovsky sent a request to the Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation to get acquainted with the merchandise examination of the watch, but he was told that they were not sent for examination, but were transferred to a storage room. Kozlovsky and his lawyer did not find confirmation in the case file that the watch had been sent to a storage room.

Kozlovsky, in his statement, suspects an unknown investigator of not handing over the watch and disposing of it at his own discretion. The convict recalled that after his arrest, the police actively used the photograph of the watch “in staged stories about huge sums of embezzlement and the wild life of criminals.”

“Kommersant – Ural”, 09.09.2022, “The convicted leader of the Lurk hacker group wrote a statement to the ICR because of the missing watch for $ 100 thousand”: “According to the documents of the criminal case, during the search in 2016, the investigation examined these watches, recognized them as material evidence, left them in the storage room of the investigative department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation due to the appointment of a commodity examination in respect of them,” says Mr. Kozlovsky in a statement (available from Kommersant-Ural). According to him, in 2017, the head of the investigation team, Natalya Klishina, officially informed him about the examination, explaining the refusal to familiarize himself with material evidence at the end of the preliminary investigation. In addition, as Konstantin Kozlovsky points out, the defense was unlawfully denied access to material evidence during the trial. — Inset K.ru

Kommersant.Ru, 09/09/2022, “Court Clock”: In 2022, Konstantin Kozlovsky sent a request to the Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, including to get acquainted with the merchandising examination of watches. In June, the investigators sent him a response (Kommersant has it), which states that the watch was not sent for examination, but transferred to the storage room of the Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, which confirms the coupon in the case file. However, Konstantin Kozlovsky and his lawyer did not find evidence in the case file that the watch had been sent to a storage room. In this connection, they turned to the TFR.

“I believe that the unknown investigator did not hand over material evidence in the prescribed manner, acting for mercenary purposes, disposed of them at his own discretion. In my opinion, there are signs of a crime by unidentified persons from among the employees of the Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation who investigated the case, the consequence of which was the theft / loss of valuable material evidence, ”the statement says. It also states that the location of the Nika brand gold watch confiscated from Konstantin Kozlovsky is also unknown. Their cost is estimated at 50 thousand rubles. […]

At the same time, Konstantin Kozlovsky claims that the investigators never found the stolen 1.2 billion rubles. “This did not prevent the court from sentencing them for theft. Legal action in 1.2 billion rubles. will be distributed among the convicts, including myself. This makes me remember the watch that the police confiscated from me in order to repay part of the damage to the victims with their cost, ”Konstantin Kozlovsky said. — Inset K.ru

The application was sent at the end of July 2022, but the answer to it did not come. Lawyer Fyodor Akchermyshev sent a request to the TFR with a request to provide a document confirming the acceptance of the report of the crime.

According to the court verdict, Konstantin Kozlovsky was recognized as the head of the Lurk hacker group. 22 members of the group, most of them from Yekaterinburg, were found guilty of creating the Lurk virus, which replaced the recipient’s details in the payment documents of the accounting departments. Then the stolen money went to the accounts of one-day firms under the control of the group, from where it was distributed to the accounts of dummy individuals throughout Russia and cashed out.

Among the victims are banks Metropol, Garant-Invest, Solid Bank, Taatta, Rostov Snack Company and StroyInvest. The total amount stolen is more than a billion rubles.

Kozlovsky, as the leader of the group, was sentenced to 14 years in a strict regime. The remaining defendants received sentences ranging from 5 years and 1 month to 13 years in prison. The verdict did not enter into force. An appeal is being considered.
