Abakan the garrison military court sentenced Private Onmas Dolaan to five years in prison for AWOL.
This was reported to Lente.ru by the press service of the 2nd Eastern District Military Court.
The convict will serve his sentence in a penal colony. He was found guilty under Article 337 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Unauthorized leaving a part).
It follows from the case file that the serviceman decided to take a break from his duties and on October 31, 2022, without a good reason, did not return from leave to serve. On February 9, 2023, Dolaan voluntarily arrived at the military commandant’s office.
On June 13, it was reported that a private soldier who served under a contract in the Murmansk region received a similar term, according to the verdict of the Krasnoyarsk garrison military court. For preventive purposes, the case was considered on the territory of one of the military units of the region in the presence of other military personnel.
