Russian Railways again appealed to the EU Council regarding the lifting of sanctions

Russian Railways has sent an appeal to the Council of the European Union on the need to consider the application for the lifting of sanctions as soon as possible and make an objective decision on it, a correspondent reports. DOPs with reference to the press service of the company.

Earlier in July 2022, Russian Railways applied to the EU Council with a statement to lift the sanctions imposed by the EU on the company. The document noted that the EU sanctions are aimed at limiting the company’s ability to perform socially significant, humanitarian functions and are discriminatory against the population of the Russian Federation.

In addition, they contradict a significant number of norms of international law and acts of the EU itself.
