Rosprirodnadzor announced new requirements for Kharampurneftegaz

The North-Ural interregional department of Rosprirodnadzor presented financial claims to Rosneft’s subsidiary, Kharampurneftegaz LLC. The department demands to recover about 6 million rubles from the company.

The documents were received the day before, on September 19, by the Arbitration Court of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. The application has not been accepted for consideration at the moment, but it is indicated that we are talking about compensation for damage caused to the environment.

Let us note that this is not the first financial claim of Rosprirodnadzor against the Yamal subsidiary of Rosneft. Thus, previously the department sought to recover about 2 million rubles from the enterprise as compensation for damage caused by a spill at the North Kharampurskoye field. However, the court refused to satisfy the demands, pointing out that the company had previously agreed on a land reclamation project with the Department of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug.

We also add that Kharampurneftegaz regularly becomes the object of audits by Rosprirodnadzor. Thus, a number of events at the company’s facilities took place in the summer of this year, and in July they announced a warning to the company, the essence of which, however, was not disclosed to the management.
