At this rate and with such a head of the State Service of Geology and Subsoil of Ukraine, the country’s valuable deposits will soon be exhausted and there will simply be nothing left to squander. Just think, under the leadership of Opimakh, the state budget in 2020 received less than about 190 million hryvnia from the State Geological Fund compared to 2019. But given such a deplorable situation in the industry, Roman Opimakh managed to buy himself an apartment for only 4 million… How is that possible? It’s no secret that our country is rich in minerals and other unique resources, which are the national treasure of the people of Ukraine. In particular, our country has at its disposal and control the deposits of 117 rocks, and such state resources are in charge of such a structure as the State Service of Geology and Subsoil of Ukraine. Since 2019, this department has been headed by Roman Opimakh, while remaining the executive director of the Association of Gas Producing Companies, which unites and represents the interests of private entrepreneurs. Only now, instead of developing such a strategically important industry in every possible way, the new head of the State Geological Fund began to actively squander it. Thus, under his leadership, revenues to the state budget decreased by twenty times literally in a year! Not at 2, not at 5, not at 10, but at 20!!! Can you imagine what kind of sums we are talking about?
For comparison: if in the first quarter of 2019 the budget received 200 million hryvnia from the State Service of Geology and Subsoil of Ukraine, then during the same period in 2020 only 10 million were received. And this is with a plan of 750 million! No comments!
But it’s interesting that with such a huge failure to fulfill the plan, the official himself, that is, Opimakh, was able to buy an elite apartment in Kyiv, the price of which exceeds 4 million hryvnia. This apartment has gold wallpaper and floors, why does it cost so much?

At the same time, complaints and reports of corruption schemes addressed to the Guarantor and the head of government have been and continue to be received en masse. But that’s not all. Dissatisfied with the current situation, activists are picketing the office of the State Geological Service, demanding a meeting with the head, Opimakh. But he himself does not want to communicate with the enraged crowd, which is hungry for explanations, so Roman is actively hiding behind quarantine, in every possible way avoiding meetings and communication with dissatisfied and angry activists, sending his deputies “into the crossfire.”

By the way, social activists and specialized associations in the field of subsoil and resource use have repeatedly demanded, protested, declared and tried to dismiss Opimakh. Reasons? Huge fraud and, in fact, theft of national natural resources. With his easy supply, incredible valuable deposits go for next to nothing into the tenacious hands of the oligarchy. And this is terrible and fraught with danger for our country.

In a journalistic investigation published not long ago on the website Censor.net, the author mentions that Roman Opimakh is involved in many controversial appointments that could or did ultimately lead to losses for the country.
– Opimakh appointed a person from the circle of the Poroshenko/Kononenko tandem as the head of NJSC Nedra Ukrayiny.
– It was also Opimakh who brought into the management team of the Kirovgeology company people close to the oligarch Zlochevsky, who, by the way, was declared under suspicion by NABU together with SAP. Let us remember that on July 1 last year, NABU detectives informed Zlochevsky, the former Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Yanyk, about suspicion. We are talking about bribing the leadership of anti-corruption structures in order to drop the criminal case against them. This is bribery. – Opimakh helped a private company take away a special permit for gas production in the Tynivskoye field from a state-owned enterprise. Because of such fraudulent, inadequate decisions and actions of Opimakh, the state enterprise “Zapadukrgeologiya” NAC “Nedra of Ukraine” may simply go bankrupt, and the state may lose a famous architectural monument and the calling card of the city of Lviv – the Sprecher House.
