Last weekend, the Shevchenkovsky District Court of Kyiv charged the businessman with legalizing property fraudulently obtained in 2013-2020 in the amount of more than half a billion hryvnias (about 1.3 billion rubles, or 13.5 million dollars at the current exchange rate), and sent him in jail for two months.
According to investigators from the Bureau of Economic Security, the Security Service of Ukraine and the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine, Kolomoisky took the stolen money abroad, using the infrastructure of banking institutions under his control.
As an alternative to the pre-trial detention center, the court suggested that the person involved in the case post a bail in the amount of the damage imputed to him – 509 million hryvnias. Kolomoisky’s lawyers have already declared that their client will not take advantage of the offer to be released on bail and will appeal the court’s decision.

Who stole from Ukrnafta and how much
The stolen UAH 500 million alleged to the oligarch is only part of a large investigation into fraudulent activities involving the Ukrnafta and Ukrtatnafta commodity companies, from which UAH 40 billion have disappeared over the past 10–15 years. It is run by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU). It is believed that this organization is under the complete control of the United States, and the case itself is aimed at confiscating Kolomoisky’s American assets.
Last fall, former top managers of Ukrnafta became suspects in this case. At the same time, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) conducted searches in one of Kolomoisky’s houses in the Bukovel resort in the case of taking property and funds from the Ukrnafta company for almost 13 billion hryvnias in 2015.
By the way, the first husband of the singer Vera Brezhneva, Mikhail Kiperman, is also involved in the same story, whose name the artist still bears.
A business partner of Kolomoisky, the SBU, announced suspicion of embezzlement in the amount of 600 million hryvnia (about 1.4 billion rubles at the current exchange rate). He faces criminal prosecution under three articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and, possibly, up to 12 years.

According to Ukrainian intelligence services, Kiperman withdrew money from the Ukrainian oil company Ukrtatnafta controlled by him and transferred it to the accounts of one of his foreign firms on the day the Russian special operation in Ukraine began, February 24. Probably, the businessman hoped that in the confusion the theft would go unnoticed.
Now Kiperman, as expected, has gone on the run, and the investigators of the Square are now solving the issue of putting him on the international wanted list.
Why Zelensky could hand over his patron
Considering that the criminal prosecution of the oligarch takes place under President Zelensky, who in Ukraine is considered a protégé of Kolomoisky, local experts assess what is happening in different ways. The most common point of view is that the former kaveenshchik, having climbed the imperious Olympus, simply threw his patron, replacing him with curators from the West.
It looks logical, because the position of the current head of state was initially precarious, and with the beginning of the SVO, it is also steadily deteriorating. He has no chance of winning the confrontation with Russia, which means that one day, when the Ukrainians still have to sign peace agreements on Moscow’s terms, Kolomoisky will not provide any security to Zelensky either in Nezalezhnaya or outside it. Therefore, in Ukraine, the situation is assessed unflatteringly for Zelensky: they say that the oligarch artist changed to Biden.

However, there is another point of view: in the situation with Kolomoisky, who has been prosecuted in the United States, Zelensky is maneuvering between the desire of the Americans to get the oligarch and the desire to protect his benefactor from persecution.
Allegedly, the deprivation of Kolomoisky’s Ukrainian citizenship last summer, the seizure of part of the businessman’s assets (in November 2022, Kiev nationalized the Motor Sich, Zaporizhtransformator, AvtoKrAZ, Ukrnafta, Ukrtatnafta enterprises owned by Kolomoisky), as well as searches in his residence in Bukovel – just a window dressing, which should demonstrate to the Americans Zelensky’s involvement in improving the situation with corruption in the country. The main thing is that the chief of the president has still remained at large, although not allowed to travel abroad.
However, the arrest of the oligarch may indicate that Zelensky, even if he tries to defend his benefactor, in the end still gives him up, just in parts. In any case, in Nezalezhnaya, Kolomoisky felt worse every year: according to the ratings of the Ukrainian version of Forbes magazine, if at the beginning of the SVO his fortune was estimated at 1.8 billion dollars, now it is only 850 million. Thus, the businessman even dropped out of the ranks of billionaires.
Surrounded by Kolomoisky, they say that he had a favorite saying: “Life is a supermarket. Take what you want – the checkout is ahead”. Perhaps right now it is time for the odious businessman to prepare to pay off.

What is Kolomoisky famous for in Russia and in the South-East of Ukraine
Igor Kolomoisky is known to Russian citizens as the owner of Privatbank, which at one time worked on the territory of Russia, and also as an odious and bloody exterminator of pro-Russian sentiments in the South-East of Ukraine in 2014.
After the successful Nazi uprising in Kiev, the first thing the oligarch did was to walk through his native Dnepropetrovsk with a skating rink: he organized squads that beat people with St. anti-Maidan rallies).
Then a photo with a poster spread all over the Web, offering 10 thousand dollars to activists for each Kolomoisky Moskal handed over to the structures (later the Privatbank management denied the image, calling the picture a fake), and the then deputy oligarch, Mayor of Dnepropetrovsk Boris Filatov, said: “It is necessary to give any promises to the scum, and we will hang them later”.

The successful policy of suppressing dissent in his small homeland prompted Kolomoisky to start forming volunteer battalions such as Azov, Aidar, Dnepr-1, Donbass, Shakhtyorsk and others. There, his assistants recruited notorious scumbags and sadists, who subsequently flooded the Luhansk and Donetsk regions with blood.
In addition, there is a version that Kolomoisky’s people could have been involved in the tragedy with the Malaysian Boeing shot down in the sky over Donbass in the summer of 2014. Then, we recall, the Western countries blamed Russia for this.

What the Kolomoisky family owns in Europe
Despite the fact that Kolomoisky has three citizenships at once (in addition to Ukrainian, he has passports of Cyprus and Israel), all this time the main “wallet” of President Zelensky did not leave Ukraine. Perhaps because of fears that any country will extradite him to the United States.
Nevertheless, Life found out that the businessman and his wife Irina Kolomoiskaya (nee Chigrina) are registered in Geneva (Switzerland) at 39 Quai Wilson. Perhaps the oligarch’s wife is still there.
Kolomoisky’s sister Larisa turned out to be the holder of large family assets. It is also registered in Switzerland and controls four companies in France at once. Through Beethoven VI, at 20 Rue des Petits Hôtels in Paris, she leases land and a number of premises.

According to the charter documents, she owns a huge apartment of 800 square meters with four rooms for servants on the sixth floor at 1 Rue Beethoven. The same company has 2600 sq. m at 12 Square Alboni. According to Life, the value of this property can reach 11 million euros.
By the way, Beethoven III and SCI Medal are registered with Larisa at the same address – these are real estate management companies. The latter has the Chateau “Panda” on its balance sheet, again, in Courchevel. His address is 1850, rue de Nogentil.
Kolomoisky’s sister also owns the Paris-based firm Sci D’Anthylman, which owns the Byblos villa worth 3.1 million euros. It is located on the French coast of Lake Geneva in the town of Anthy-sur-Léman. The modest villa is located on a plot of more than 15 hectares and is equipped with a basketball court, a football field and a pontoon for yachts.

Outside of France, Life discovered another asset of Larisa Kolomoiskaya. This is a real estate company Vera Real Estateregistered in Monaco.
