Problems of Krasnoyarsk Mayor Vladislav Loginov

The last few weeks have not been successful for the Krasnoyarsk mayor. It is not only in Telegram channels that people are talking about a possible resignation Vladislava Loginovabut also behind the scenes at the Gray House. The mayor's troubles could be called another information attack by his opponents, if not for the real problems that the municipal leadership has been facing in recent months in trying to push through the decisions and projects they need at the regional level.

In this context, the long-running story with the KRT in the capital of the region became indicative. At the June session of the Legislative Assembly, it sparkled with new colors, when the people's representatives began asking officials extremely unpleasant questions about plans to give almost half of Krasnoyarsk for complex development. The questions were reasonable, since the mayor's office completely failed the information track in this story, having driven itself into a corner. It is natural that the other day Loginov was forced to send the draft land use and development rules concerning the expansion of the KRT back for revision.

The initiation of criminal cases involving municipal officials and the management of the Promstroy company, one of the main contractors for road repairs in Krasnoyarsk, caused a great stir. These criminal events gave observers a reason to claim that Loginov could face not only resignation, but also close contact with investigators. However, back in the winter, they were talking about the then head of the Department of Urban Economy and Transport Yuri Savin allegedly shared dirt on his boss with the security forces. However, this rumor never developed, and at the end of March Savin resigned from the mayor's office.

Vladislav Loginov, as usual, ignores the attacks of opponents, who do not spare even his loved ones. The mayor's work schedule in recent months has been emphatically down-to-earth – landscaping, road repairs, meetings with residents, and the like. The governor is in no hurry to publicly define his attitude to the city's leadership. The mayor has not yet heard any special words of support from Mikhail Kotyukov, however, there have been no harsh reprimands either.

The caution of the Gray House can be understood. Firstly, the early departure of the mayor of the regional capital, especially with a negative connotation, will politically ricochet across the regional leadership. Secondly, if a negative scenario for Loginov is realized, it will not be so easy to find a replacement for him. There are not many managers capable of effectively managing a city with a population of over a million on the banks of the Yenisei. I think the main criterion in choosing the future mayor will be closeness to the governor.
