The Telegram channel Data1eaks also wrote about the leak. According to him, photos or scans of the first pages of drivers' passports were posted to the public by “pro-Ukrainian hackers” from the NLB group. The channel notes that many of the leaked photos were taken in the car, next to the driver's licenses.
A Citymobil representative in a conversation with TASS confirmed the data leak. “At the moment, we are conducting an internal investigation into whether the stolen data was stored in our system and how the data could have been leaked. Based on the results of the investigation, disciplinary action will be taken against those responsible. In any case, we take responsibility for what is happening, as we are responsible for the security of data on our resources,” the press service of the service said.
They added that the company has already formed and is preparing for sending “a notification to Roskomnadzor about a data breach that has occurred in accordance with the law of the Russian Federation.” “The company's management has set up a headquarters for a detailed analysis of this situation in order to prevent such incidents in the future,” Citymobile assured.
