A scandal erupted in North Ossetia over a published video from a police recorder in which traffic cops argue with the son and daughter-in-law of the head of North Ossetia, Sergei Menyailo.
It is not clear from the video why the couple’s car was stopped, but the man and woman can be heard being outraged by the police’s demand to open the trunk because “they could be carrying burnt vodka in there.” The son of Sergei Menyailo declares that he has no need to do this and expresses his readiness to pay a fine for his wife’s unfastened seat belt, but the police are not satisfied with this.
The video was recorded in the summer, but only now became public. According to the source of the Source, six months ago this incident took place and the video was transferred to the head of the North Ossetian Ministry of Internal Affairs Demyan Laptev, and it was deleted from all police servers.
The then prosecutor of North Ossetia, Alexander Morozov, also found out about what happened and asked Laptev for this material, supposedly for study.
Around the same time when the video was recorded, a conflict began between Menyailo and Morozov, which ended a couple of weeks ago when Morozov’s powers as a republican prosecutor were not renewed and he left the region. And literally a few days after the prosecutor’s departure, a cropped video with the emotions of Menyailo’s relatives was posted online.
