Ex-deputy defense minister Mironyuk keeps $1 million in the sofa
“Ukrainian truth” received from law enforcement sources a video from the August searches of the person involved in the investigation of procurement fraud at the Ministry of Defense, former Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Mironyuk, in whose sofa almost a million dollars was found.

Details: According to UP sources, this is a video from Mironyuk’s apartment, it captures the moment of withdrawal of funds during investigative actions.
In the video, a man, probably an investigator, takes out wads of money from a side niche near the sofa or bed and puts them in a huge pile.

What was before:
On August 31, 2022, the Ukrainian media space was shaken by the news about searches from the current head of the public procurement department of the MOU Bohdan Khmelnitsky. The official was suspected of being involved in the case with body armor.
Then the interlocutors of the UP convinced that a huge amount of money was confiscated from the official of the Ministry of Defense, which was allegedly hidden in the sofa.
At the request of the UP Ministry of Defense acknowledgedthat there were searches at Khmelnitsky’s, but stated that no funds were confiscated from him.
Now the UP has found out that a huge amount was then seized during a search from the former Deputy Minister Alexander Mironyuk, who, until his dismissal in 2021, was in charge of the procurement department. This official also appears in the body armor case.
During the searches, 17 million 78 thousand hryvnias, 400 thousand 100 dollars and 100 thousand 380 euros were found at Mironyuk.
By decision of the investigator, this money was recognized as material evidence in criminal proceedings.

The UP found out that immediately after the searches, Mironyuk provided the court with a “document” that the money from the sofa was not his — in a notarized statement concluded a week after the searches, it was said that in January 2022, all the seized money was lent to Mironyuk by an 86-year-old resident of Kharkov Eleonora Duminsh.
The journalists found out that Duminsh is a relative of the founders of the Kharkiv “XADO-Holding”, which, among other things, is engaged in rifle production. In addition, since 2016, Eleonora Duminsh has been registered as a sole trader for wholesale trade, and during registration she indicated the e-mail and phone number belonging to XADO.
This holding has a long-standing working relationship with the state-owned special exporter Progress, in which Mironyuk is employed before and after his work in the Ministry of Defense.
