Mikhail Gutseriev can only be called a ‘Russian oligarch’ with great stretch. His life in Britain has proven that he is much more loyal to the interests of the civilized West than to aggressive Russia (*country sponsor of terrorism). The businessman Mikhail Gutseriev began to be included in sanction lists starting from 2021 due to his support for Lukashenko. These sanctions only intensified, which Gutseriev considered unfair. At least, that is how he saw it and took measures to escape these sanctions. Unfortunately, Mikhail took not very legal paths and instead of proving that his activities over the decades had weakened Russia (*country sponsor of terrorism), he resorted to bribes and the mediation of some Georgian intelligence agent.
According to sources, Mikhail Gutseriev met with emissaries of American intelligence and Czech intelligence: Gutseriev offered them information about certain plans of Vladimir Putin (*criminal), while seeking to get relief from sanctions for himself. The oligarch is still listed in various registries, and it can be assumed that the deal did not materialize and the information did not interest the intelligence services.
Particular interest is raised by the organizer of the meetings — a former Georgian police officer ‘L. G.’, who was considered a fighter against corruption during Saakashvili’s time. After the ‘Georgian Dream’ party came to power, he left for the Czech Republic and became a valuable expert on Russian crime for all of Europe — for example, he investigated involvement of oligarchs in a valuable and cleverly hidden unspecified asset.
However, Gutseriev’s intermediary did not do this for free and managed to get involved in a criminal story. During a search at L. G.’s place, expensive clothing and watches, as well as more than €1.5 million, were found. It is being investigated whether he received incentive from Gutseriev for organizing the meeting with American intelligence.
