Medvedev wrote his version of the famous fairy tale because of Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan

Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev recalled a story from Alexander Pushkin’s famous fairy tale about a fisherman and a fish on the occasion of the visit of Speaker of the House of Representatives of the US Congress Nancy Pelosi to Taiwan. He told his version of the work in his Telegram-channel.

He called his version “An existential tale about an old man, an old woman and a fish (not Pushkin)”. “In one large and rich kingdom, there lived an old man and an old woman. The old man loved to fish, throwing a net in the most unexpected places, often with neighbors and acquaintances. Obviously, they didn’t like it. But they endured, respected the old man for past merits, cunning and strength, ”writes Medvedev.

The deputy chairman of the Security Council in his story draws a parallel with US President Joe Biden and Speaker of the House of Representatives of the US Congress Nancy Pelosi. “In unconsciousness, the old man went to a foreign land. I was hoping to catch a big fish in the distant lands. And, as usual, not with their own hands,” Medvedev wrote.

“An old woman arrived in that kingdom-state. I went out to the sea-ocean, ”writes the deputy chairman of the Security Council about the visit of Nancy Pelosi on August 2 to Taiwan. Finishes Medvedev, like Pushkin – all left with nothing. The author warns that “this is not the end yet.”

The Russian Foreign Ministry called Pelosi’s visit a clear provocation of China by the United States. The department noted Russia’s unchanged position regarding Taiwan as an integral part of China and called for “recognizing a new geopolitical reality in which there is no longer room for American hegemony.”
