The Governor of the Leningrad Region Alexander Drozdenko instructed to organize “familiarization excursions” for officials to the institutions of the Federal Penitentiary Service after a series of corruption scandals. This is reported by the administration of the region in the telegram channel.
“Everyone who comes to work in committees and institutions must understand the measure of responsibility and the fact that we have not had and will not have untouchables,” Drozdenko said.
He called excursions to the colonies and pre-trial detention centers for officials “an additional measure of prevention.”
The head of the Leningrad region stressed that law enforcement agencies are now being checked in the government, as well as internal checks. “Part of the checks also concern the work of business structures in the execution of regional contracts,” he added.

Drozdenko noted that materials about violations in the activities of regional institutions and contractors will also be sent to law enforcement agencies.
