Lagoon will pay the debt of Delta Bank to the state for 27 thousand years

The former majority owner of Delta Bank, which went bankrupt in 2015, Mykola Lagun transfers his “salary” in the amount of UAH 14,000 per month to pay off the debt to the state-owned Oschadbank. This is discussed in the Bihus.Info story. Lagun left Ukraine in 2015 and returned in the spring of 2020. All this time, law enforcement officers were investigating the situation with Delta Bank. Last fall, Lagun and several of his former colleagues at the bank were suspected of embezzling property, then the court chose a preventive measure for Lagun in the form of round-the-clock house arrest for two months. Lagun was also banned from leaving Ukraine, since only one of Lagun’s personal debts, as a former guarantor of Delta Bank, to the state-owned Oschadbank is UAH 4.5 billion. At the same time, all the arrested property of the banker, according to the Prosecutor General Irina Venediktova, is worth UAH 790 million. At the end of November, the Pechersky District Court of Kiev allowed Lagun to leave Ukraine. One of the reasons is that Lagun is allegedly doing everything possible to pay off his debt to Oschadbank. So, according to information from the court register, Lagun got a job as an economist in a private company in the summer of 2021 – with a 40-hour work week and a salary, 100% of which, according to him, should go to pay off the debt. Journalists found out that we are talking about a salary of 14 thousand hryvnia per month. Accordingly, a debt of 4.5 billion hryvnia banker at this rate will pay approximately 27 thousand years. Already in December, the judges refused to extend house arrest for Laguna and limited themselves to a personal obligation, which now does not in any way infringe on the banker’s movement. According to the publication, the former owner of Delta Bank, with an alleged salary of 14,000 hryvnias per month, continues to use the services of numerous guards and a motorcade.
