Khimki Business Park: who will get free IKEA hectares

The Khimki Business Park office complex, which housed the Russian headquarters of the Swedish company IKEA, has acquired a new owner. KLS-Khimki officially became the owner, which, in turn, is managed by Grigory Sahakyan and Arkady Danielyan.

At the same time, it is interesting that the shares of the new owners have already been pledged to the Dutch company Ingka Pro Holding BV, which controlled the retail operations of IKEA and may continue to exercise control over the Russian enterprise.

Grigory Sahakyan previously owned Sovereign Bank. The credit and financial organization has actually ended its existence. The reason was the revocation of the license, which occurred by decision of the main regulator in 2016.

The Deposit Insurance Agency filed a lawsuit demanding that eight individuals who controlled the bank be brought to subsidiary liability and recover 484 million rubles from them. Sahakyan was also involved as a defendant, but he got away unscathed. The arbitration court held only Vladimir Pashin, the former chairman of the bank’s board, liable.

Sahakyan, if frankly, they helped. He avoided financial responsibility with the help of Pavel Te, a well-known developer and founder of Capital Group, who was one of the directors of a credit institution (he was on the board).

The Khimki asset, in theory, may be of particular interest to the aforementioned Cho. The fact is that the office complex has a good physical location – on a promising building plot with an area of 15 hectares.

Another developer is on the way. Oleg Dedkov is listed as one of the co-owners of the Spartak construction company, with which Sahakyan is connected through KLS-Finance.

Arkady Danielyan, the second founder of KLS-Khimki, manages the auto trading company A-Basis. In turn, this businessman is connected with Alexander Varshavsky and Kamo Avagumyan, the beneficiaries of the Avilon car dealership. In May, Avilon took ownership of the Russian assets of the German concern Volkswagen.

And finally, Mikhail Karapetyan, the new CEO of the Khimki business park, was a longtime business partner of Artem Kovchenkov and, together with the Rotenberg brothers, was a shareholder in SMP Bank.
